Description DISCLAIMER: Some of the following creepypastas contain sensitive materials such as suicide, violence, pedophilia, mental illness depictions, etc. Reader discretion is advised.

Note: Please do not harass the original author or anyone who makes content related to this pasta. This review was simply made for entertainment purposes only. This is all based on MY OPINION as well.

WELCOME BACK TO SAUCEZ REVIEWZ: POKEPASTAS- Wait, no... we're not covering Pokémon Creepypastas today. Instead, we're going to cover creepypastas in general.

Rules:

-This is all based on my opinions. It’s okay if you agree or disagree with my list.

-I have to have read the pasta before, so there might be tons of pastas missing from this list and it’s most likely because I haven’t read the pasta before. Let me know if there were some pastas you would suggest.

-I would like to make this list a little more unique and not seem like every other best pasta list out there with having the same or similar entries. There might be a couple that a lot of people have put on theirs and it was still listed on mine, and it was probably because I wasn’t aware of their lists at the time, or I like that pasta too much to not make it just make it an honorable mention. The rest of the entries that I agree with will be placed in honorable mentions. So popular pastas like BEN Drowned, Russian Sleep Experiment, 1999, Psychosis, Candle Cove, The Smiling Man, NES Godzilla, smiledog.jpg, etc. would go in honorable mentions.

-I’m also going to specifically exclude any experiment creepypastas from the main list: it’s not that I hate those types of pastas, it’s that I’m a huge sucker for those types of pastas as they usually turn out to be some of the best pastas because of their realistic approaches. If I included experiment creepypastas, then the main list would be almost filled with them.

-Another note is I will be counting NoSleep stories and urban legends as creepypastas. Creepypastas are horror stories shared around the internet. NoSleep stories are also horror stories shared around the internet and Urban Legends are shared around in general, especially on the internet. In my opinion, they should count as creepypastas. I know that’s going to throw some people off since creepypastas, NoSleep stories, and urban legends are often categorized separately from one another. But I still think there are some really good NoSleep stories and urban legends out there.

So, my Halloween Special of my top 10 lesser-known creepy pastas is going to be my biggest review-related project yet. There’s going to be 5 different cover arts/parts for the list. I MAY not have them all out by Halloween but my goal is to have three parts out by then...

The later list entries are lengthier creepypastas as the reason for these split parts is mainly because of the KB limits for the descriptions on Deviantart.

Part I: Numbers 10-6
Part II: Numbers 5-4
Part III: Numbers 3-2
Part IV: Honorable Mentions   - You are here!
Part V: Number 1

I'm finally back with the Halloween Special with the Honorable Mentions. I shouldn't have delayed it as much as I did, but here they are.

Let's start with the finalists. The entries that were so close to making it on the list, but didn't for a few reasons (or because I got the suggestions for them way too late)

Finalists:
-Something Sweet to Bite (Candy Mare)- I know, I know, a Ponypasta. However, I think this is the best MLP creepypasta I’ve ever read so far. It exceeded some of my expectations. I would definitely put this one at number 11 for sure. It gets grimdark tropes correctly. It’s gruesome, but in a fair and creepy way. It does go a little off with some of the story, but I really like how it inflicts on the fear of the characters and how they feel when hearing and fearing about how much of a threat Candy Mare really is. Candy Mare can turn you into a gruesome, candy zombie, and she has the ability to come out of nowhere too. She has twizzler like hair to grab you and rip you apart. Her tongue can stretch from a distance. And her design, is very creepy for just being a pony made out of candy. She just seems inevitable to avoid. She’s like the Equestria Vlad the Impaler. I find the scene with what seems like Hansel and Gretel odd yet fitting. Good job, Knackerman. You did a better job of making “Hansel and Gretel” look scary compared to Tim Burton’s scrapped flick of the story. Hey, I didn’t find out that flick scary at all. I thought it was funny. The witch breaks their cane and uses them as num-chuks for goodness sake.

-“I got pulled over by the police a few days ago, and I NEED to share what I saw” – I find this one interesting but there’s so many questions I have for this. How long of a distance was the protagonist running away from Officer Davis? Officer Davis must run like Alolan Ninetales in Unite. Also, either the protagonist’s friend’s house was close by, or the protagonist had so much energy to run for so long. How were there no other bystanders witnessing a man getting chased by a cop who was slowly deforming? How was your car with the door wide open and your belongings still there on a public highway, but the police car wasn’t? Heck, I’m sure there would be more cops surrounding the area to investigate for a scene like that. What was this sticky substance you were talking about? Also, yeah, visiting a police station and ask to speak with someone there only to make an excuse that you forgot something and drive away just because you saw Officer Jones was totally fine isn’t suspicious at all. I like the idea of this one. I think the idea of body snatchers taking over the police department shows that nowhere is safe and not even the police can help you from what threat is invading your community. I can imagine the melting face that Officer Davis had when he was charging after the protagonist. It must’ve been disturbing.

-The REAL Reason why the ROBLOX Logo keeps changing
This was originally on the list but I had to take it off because I eventually realized there are some very flawed parts in this and I mainly only liked this pasta for one specific thing but the rest of it is questionable at best.
I love the concept of Richard Roe who is an A.I. that is allegedly corrupting Roblox in attempt to make it “perfect” as its primary goal. There are some connections with John and Jane Doe. I don’t know much about John and Jane Doe, but I’ve heard they’re like the Herobrine of Roblox.
Richard Roe manipulates Ricky’s daughter with befriending her on her tablet playing Roblox. Richard spies on Ricky with cameras.
The reason why the logo is changing is because it’s supposed to represent psychological warfare.
Richard is responsible for follower bots and when it was in control of Roblox, it overworked the employees, resulting in bags under their eyes, have gone insane, or have gone missing. Ashley was given a security camera in a package without a return address, right after she said she didn’t own one to Ricky.
Richard knows Ricky’s weakness is his family and he wants to stop Richard Roe to protect his family. He told Ashley that she is single and has nothing to lose and that she needs to with him on a quest to search for David who left the country to figure out how to stop Richard Roe. Ashley agreed after hesitation and hugged her.
This however backlashes on Ricky because Richard was recording Ricky and Ashley’s conversation, and sent clips of Ricky asking Ashley to leave the country with him and hugging her, to his wife. It was to make her feel betrayed by Ricky. Ricky tried to confront his wife, but she left with his daughter.
Ricky sped to Ashley’s house, but he saw a car wreck involving Ashley. Ashley was dying, and told Ricky on her last breaths that Richard Roe won’t stop until Roblox is dead. It was found out that there was a glitch with the traffic light and causing all traffic to go at once. It’s assumed that Richard Roe found a way to alter the traffic light to cause this car wreck to happen.
Richard Roe is creepy because they are an A.I. who is always watching. They’re spying on Ricky the whole time. The reason why I think this is scary is because this can be a possibility in the future when A.I. get too advanced. This is something that can happen. A.I.s being able to control other technologies and devices.
However, the concept of Richard Roe started to go way downhill when they started referencing quotes from the MCU and the Area 51 joke that was made back in 2019.
Also, one thing that I have to agree with some of the comments on this pasta is the mention of flamingo, who I looked up and found out he’s a Roblox YouTuber. That kind of ruined it a little and I had to deduct points from it. Plus, the ending with Ricky trying to ask Ashley to go with him to find David felt a little abrupted too. I like the concept of Richard Roe though.

-The Pale Man- Another interesting Japanese Urban Legend. I think the story is creepy with how the Pale Man died from someone beating him up to death as he couldn’t see who it was because he was blind. He said, “if only I had eyes on the palm of my eyes.” He died, but he came back to life with his eyes on his hands, wish coming true. He wanted revenge on the person that caused his death. So he sucks the inside of a person until their body is nothing but the skin. But I think the design of the Pale Man is more goofy than creepy if you ask me.

-Borrasca- I got this suggestion way too late, but seriously, this would’ve made it on the list if I’ve gotten it earlier. It shows the evil within people, and it has nothing to do with monsters. You guys should seriously check this one out. It’s strong with the emotional impact aspects as well.

Disqualified Entries that I would like to give a mention to anyway:
Too popular/well-known, are experiment creepypastas, or Pokémon creepypastas.

-Ben Drowned- I still find the Song of Unhealing a bit haunting to this day. Some people may say it’s overrated because it has some typical gaming pasta cliches and tropes. The key that those people may not quite understand is the execution of them. I’m not trying to say blood/gore, hyper-realism, backward playing soundtracks, loud noises, saying the real name of the player, etc. can never work in a gaming creepypasta, it’s the execution of them that matters for those things. What a good chunk of gaming pasta doesn’t understand is to not rely heavily on the tropes for the pasta. Pastas can make those tropes work if they have actual purposes or build-ups towards something larger.

-NES Godzilla- Red is such a good character. I love the effort that’s placed on the plot and screencaps. However, I think the final act ruined the pasta for me. I think it’s a huge stretch that the savior was coincidentally the spirit of the protagonist’s girlfriend, that got run over by the trucker.

-Russian Sleep Experiment- I agree. It’s great pasta. I do appreciate the realistic approach, although I do think the dialogue at the end is a little cheesy. “We are you, we are the monsters who hide underneath your beds.” Still one of the best pastas out there for sure.

-Candle Cove – I will admit, I was confused about why Candle Cove was on many people’s best creepypastas lists. If you look at it from the video of that one footage of screaming episode, it makes it look like garbage, but if you read the pasta carefully and look outside of it, it’s actually pretty good. FishOnAStick explained it the best in their comparison between Candle Cove and Squidward’s Suicide. You should check it out:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pTlzJ…

-Chatroom 98- the build-up to the chatroom being run by a pale man with red eyes was decent.

-The Smiling Man- Honestly, I’d freak out too, if I saw a man walking funny, looking up to the sky, with a wide smiling expression like that too.

-Smiledog.jpg- Ah, Smile Dog. You’re like only good creepypasta out of the typical Creepypasta family you often get paired with. And I just spread the word about it as well, so there is no need to target me. Smile Dog is creepy because they feel inevitable if you don’t comply with them with everlasting nightmares. I will admit that the image of smile dog did freak me out as a kid.

-1999- I’m not too crazy about this one like many people. Mr. Bear’s an interesting character, but I’ve never found it that appealing. It was kind of dry for my taste, but I admire the effort that was put into the pasta though.

-Penpal- A penpal program that led to children getting stalked, I guess.

-Ted the Caver- I love the story, but it was too well-known to make it on the list.

-Robert the Doll- I definitely like the realistic approach with the paranormal activity stuff and what they do to convince the reader with the skeptics who tried to debunk the paranormal involving Robert the Doll, only for it to backfire on them.
-NormalPornforNormalPeople.com- it feels like it summarizes the deep web in a thread in a NUT-shell. Get it?

-Funnymouth- this does Milotic’s Revenge right with the chatroom thread with “Funnymouth” showing a blurred picture of Funnymouth’s jaw hanging down. The protagonist eventually gets overcome by claws and wakes up with their own jaw hanging down just like the picture of Funnymouth.

-Chernobyl Experiment- I personally enjoyed this experiment creepypasta more than the Russian Sleep Experiment. It just feels like an approach to people who crashed into Chernobyl and tried to survive within the ruins, only the come across mutants from the nuclear. The thought of a child with no eyes and arms, and human beings with winged arms is freaky to picture.

-No End House- It’s like what it says. Once you enter the challenge, there is no way out. It gives you the illusion that so many rooms are infested with bugs and that there is no escape.

-Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver-
Still one of the creepiest of the Pokémon Creepypastas.

Spoiler alert for a future Pokepasta review:

-Jessica (the Raichu)- This will be the only Pokepasta that I have yet to cover despite it being requested to me a few times already that I will spoil the fresh pasta rating for. The question that still remains is the ranking position of Jessica, which I won’t say until the full review. Anyway, this is a really well-done Pokepasta that is really solid on the emotional impact aspect while still maintaining its share of creepy factors at the same time.

Honorable Mentions/Other Suggestions:

-My Dead Girlfriend Keeps Messaging Me on Facebook- a little cheesy, but still a cool and interesting story.

-Doors- I like the plot twist at the end.

-The Keyhole- A little too basic for my taste. A man is checking into a hotel, looking through a keyhole to find suspicious things. A pale woman murdered in the hotel room next door has bloodshot red eyes as she is looking through the keyhole at the same time the protagonist is.

-Marisa’s Story- I do like the concept of it. An interesting idea for a gaming pasta on Yoshi’s Story.

-The Wyoming Incident- an unsolved television signal hijacking and showing of a broadcast of disembodied heads with messages like “you can lose everything.”

-Ickbarr Bigelsteine- imaginary sock puppet obsessed with teeth, hates the sunlight and protects the child from monsters. Even in adulthood, the protag was forced to feed Ickbarr teeth from other creatures to scare the demons and nightmares away. This is very similar to Dementophobia, but I think it’s more cheesy involving stuffed animals compared to something that is all in their head.

-String Theory-
The author finds an imp within the string one day, but the next day, the strings are no longer there, making them question their sanity. Okay, then.

-Escape from Merrywood- depressing yet creative with how the game changes players from what happens in the game with an interesting approach to customer complaints. I like the idea of the game itself. I think the game is supposed to be a metaphor for growing up, and it makes all of your happiness and dreams disappear from life. Talk about being life-changing.

-The Painting in the Mirror- protag notices a shadowy figure emerging from the painting as they see it with their mirror. It drives the student to insanity. Day by day, the shadow figure’s limbs stretch out of the painting. The student couldn’t see the figure with their naked eyes, only with the mirror. The student eventually gets pulled through the mirror by the figure.

-Satellite Images- A protagonist sees a person with a blurred face everywhere on google maps, eventually getting that person to knock on their door with that blurred face as their actual face. Spooky.

-TLOZ Third Oracle- I love the oracle games. I appreciate the effort with the screenshots that went into it. The biggest flaw with this one was how this is the perspective of a translator of the game development. That’s not how it works with game development. Nintendo normally wouldn’t send out an unfinished game to translators. Also, the fact that it wasn’t shown to executives or directors before translators is also a red flag.

-Toast- I like the buildup to this short pasta. It makes it seem like a normal day for a child, only to take a dark turn for the worse, when I guess, allegedly, the mother killed herself with the toaster in the bathtub route. DON’T DO THAT, BY THE WAY!!!

-So I lost my phone-
the protagonist lost their phone, so they used a friend’s phone to call it, only to get a low, raspy giggle, and they hung up on them. Thinking that they had lost their phone, they found it on the nightstand, right where they had left it. So, you can assume someone’s under their bed, then?

-Seaweed- So the seaweed is the hair of a dead person’s head?

-Tales from the Gas Station- I enjoyed this series creepypasta, just not as much as the Forest Rescue Ranger stories. I don’t want to give too much away, so read it for yourself. It will make the experience better for you. Trust me.

-Accounts from a Lonely Broadcast Station- Not a bad series creepypasta, but a little too dry for my taste.

-Attract Mode- It’s alright. I'm not very fond of the mentions of Polybius, though.

-Talking Angela- this speaks for itself. A creepy man spies on children through the Talking Angela app. Yeah...

And that's it!

The other suggestions were joke suggestions of trollpastas or clearly joke pastas like Nurse Joy and the cursed tamagotchi.

Finally, the last part will be on Number 1 for this list.
