Description Requested by

This Array reduces the Serotonin (a body chemical associated with feelings of well being) in a person's body, in order to cause the person to have nightmares. Side effects of reducing the bodies Serotonin may include memory failure, reduced learning ability, lack of muscle control, mood swings, poor sleep, and easy bruising, as well as slower healing.

The text instructions read as follows: Reduce the following chemical: Ten parts Carbon, twelve parts Hydrogen, two parts Nitrogen, one part Oxygen.

You'd literally replace the word "reduce" with "increase" in this instance. An there's no direct correlation between Serotonin and Adrenaline, they're both naturally occuring chemicals in the body, but too much of either of them would have adverse effects.

How are you doing the chalk outline effect? I'm using Serif Drawplus and it isn't working when I try to use it the brushes thing.

It's a filter in the program I use for the lineart. I don't do any effects in that program anymore, I use photoshop for effects now. All the ones in chalk, are my old works from before I started using photoshop.

I have Photoshop. But I just never used it. I like this program more. I guess I don't like Photoshop. But I suppose I could get used to Photoshop if it would be better or easier to do things.

Serif is really only good for doing the line art. I only use photoshop for special effects, and the like.

Oh, okay. That's helpful. So how do I go about using Photoshop for visual effects? At least the chalk line art.

Well I didn't use photoshop for that, and I actually haven't figured out how to do it in CS6 yet...its pretty easy to find in the filters for CS5, but I'm not sure really.

Well. I have issues using Photoshop. It's just cluttered for me and if I wanted to do an effect or create something, I'd probably spend hours f*king around because I don't really know anything or have enough memory of the program to come up with things based on f*king around... except in this situation, I actually have a clue as to what I'm doing instead of nothing.

I know what you mean, I come back to photoshop sometimes, and have no idea what I'm doing because its been so long

Lol I wish There Was some way I could use this and your remote Transmutation to get revenge.Somehow(Think about details Later.)I would Get both On to his body(mabye Like How ed Does That To make transmutations On walls and ceilings)so like If he shoves Me I draw a universal transmutation on my Palms and Push Him causing The Designs to appear On his body. Then Whenever He pisses me off I use The remote Transmutation circle To activate This one.
I hope I'm making sense.

Very pretty! Very nice! So here is what I noticed:
Your text was very well done! It was specific and to the point. Im very sure if I were an array, I would know exactly what you were talking about!
The symbols in conjunction with the square and inside the circle is great for your array as you are dealing with a compound. I don't know what your symbols in the center mean, but they appear to be instructing the removal of this compound. Thats good.
Using the square and pentagon was also a great idea. While you could have gone with just the pentagon, it all still makes sense.

Now there is something I haven't released to the public yet that might help with this array. Involving the area of effect, if you were to enlarge the pentagon so the vertexes land between the two circles, almost touching the text, then you have a reaction that is better met for a transmutation involving a human. The reason its better is the transmutation almost happens inside of them. Its like using two arrays to extend the reach, only you need one. But it only works with arrays that involve something very simple, such as chemical removal. If you like, I can get into better detail later.

****
There you have it, Michael! A critique thing. Sorry it took so long, but I got distracted playing the didgeridoo....

Thanks Blye, enjoy the didgeridoo

I was wondering about that actually, the thing with the extension of the vertexes to just outside the inner circle, cuz I know extending the vertexes to the outer circle allows you to choose to a limit the range of your Array, so a halfway between that would have to do something of value. Next time I'm on MSN, it'd be great if you could gimme some more details.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-07-31 01:54:47 +0000 UTC]

You'd have to ask , it was his idea. His exact request was something like this to be self inflicted. I suppose you could use it to give you enemy waking nightmares so they can't do anything. It also makes them bruise easier, which means more pain if you hit them, they'll also forget things. Its useful for all kinds of things if you consider psychological warfare.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-07-31 02:00:44 +0000 UTC]

Psychological warfare, huh? I guess that could work... I think it would function best if it was coupled with some long-distance alkhestry. Give the enemy nightmares in their sleep... but then again, who would set up the circle? Yes, there are quite a few flaws in my theory...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-07-31 02:08:47 +0000 UTC]

The main flaw being that this is traditional Alchemy, and not FMA Alchemy. Even FMA Amestris Alchemy can be used long range if the circle is drawn the proper way. The only difference between Eastern Alchemy, and Amestrian Alchemy in FMA, is the source used to perform transmutations, and the main uses of the Alchemy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-07-31 02:17:53 +0000 UTC]

That's true; FMA alchemy is definitely different from the real world equivalent. Whoops. *facepalm*

And you are right about the source and purpose- I guess since they can both be called "alchemy", there should at least be SOME similarities between the two. Um... I know this is a bit off-topic, but have you noticed how the alchemy and alkhestry is animated in Brotherhood? I kind of like the floating, mist-like effects the animators give the alkhestry.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-07-31 02:27:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that was kind of cool. I'm a big FMA fan, which is what got me interested in Alchemy in the first place. I prefer the original 2003 Anime over the Manga and Brotherhood, it just seemed more accurate to the original concept of Alchemy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-07-31 02:40:50 +0000 UTC]

Same, at least for the getting-involved-in-alchemy thing. As for me, I follow the manga/Brotherhood. The first anime just seemed so... dark in my opinion. And a lot of things did not make sense to me, especially the gate (Where did Al's body go, for example. And gate babies? What the heck?). But the anime has its moments, too (Fullmetal vs. Flame, Warehouse 13, the design for Rose, ect.), and that's what I like about it. I don't intend to start an argument; I respect your opinions. Anyway, where do you think the alchemy is more accurate in the anime?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-07-31 02:53:13 +0000 UTC]

It more closely reflects traditional Alchemy than the manga does. The Manga/Brotherhood takes a lot of liberties with Alchemy, the 2003 anime takes less...and i liked the 2003 anime precisely because of the dark feel it had...it suited the series.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-07-31 15:54:45 +0000 UTC]

True, the dark feel did suit the series a bit. (I'm just not an angst fan...) So, could you provide an example where alchemy is more traditionally followed? Any circle will be fine.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-07-31 23:07:25 +0000 UTC]

Not the circle designs really, just the way Alchemy is used, and the most obvious example of that is the Homunculi. In the 2003 anime, Homunculi are artificially created humans, where in the Manga/Brotherhood, they are human-like beings created from pieces of a living philosopher's stone, or in the cases of Manga version Wrath, and Greed a human enhanced by a piece of a living philosopher's stone.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-08-01 14:20:06 +0000 UTC]

So... artificially created by using human remains, combined with philosopher's stones? Or from the human transmutation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-08-01 15:43:35 +0000 UTC]

From human transmutation silly, that what it means. Human Transmutation is to artificially create human life. Which is exactly how the Homunculi are created in the 2003 anime.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatpin-understudy In reply to Azerik92 [2010-08-02 19:21:50 +0000 UTC]

Okay, and the result of the transmutation, combined with a philosopher's stone, makes a homunculus? (Sorry about the [perhaps] obvious questioning... I'm still kind of new to this)

Azerik92 In reply to hatpin-understudy [2010-08-02 19:25:04 +0000 UTC]

No, a philospher's stone is not required. You should rewatch the old series.
