Well, this here is my entry for #Different-Dragons ' newest Contest . I always seem to forget about their contests until it's too late, but not this time! Not sure if I made the Triops dragon too Triops-like, but it was hard to tell what it's supposed to be otherwise.

Plastron Dragons
Plastron dragons are semi-aquatic dragons, far removed from the majestic creatures of the air. Instead of wings, they have thick fins, which are more used for protection than movement. They instead swim with their powerful tails. Their heads are massive, with wide shark-like mouths capable of biting a human in half. Despite this, they tend to feed on fish and crustaceans, digging them out of the sand and occasionally chasing them with quick bursts of speed. On land, they are slow and cumbersome and only come out to lay their eggs.

One peculiar feature of plastron dragons is their third eye. Their usage is unclear, though it is known that they die if it's damaged or removed. It is believed that they allow the plastron dragon to see magic, which is why they seem to be attracted to wizards (even when they aren't doing anything interesting).
