Description
So, I recently finished War of the Worlds: Global Dispatches. Being a short story collection, some parts were better than others, but it was still an interesting read. Strangely enough, the story I got the book for (To Mars and Providence) wasn't as good as I hoped. The author just seemed to overdo it with the Lovecraft style. Mars: The Home Front and After a Lean Winter, on the other hand, were both very interesting stories.

But moving on, I felt like designing a Martian after I was done reading, because I am apparently very easy to influence. It's a shame I have no use for these Martians. Could be interesting characters...

Martians
The Martians are a rare sight on the poles and high mountains of Earth. Their numbers are unknown, as their presence is only guessed from strange tracks, quick sightings, alien trash and deadly traps. Their bases are heavily guarded with these traps and intruders are quickly killed. The corpses are generally returned in the middle of the night, their possessions taken, their blood removed and their hands cut off. Martians are more commonly detected by their communication between each other. They breathe and speak with the vents on their back and their unearthly howling can be heard through the night.

Martians always wear bracelets around their legs, which somehow negate the heavier gravity of Earth. They will also carry any objects that they stole from humans.
