Haha, speaking of cultural appropriation, why the Protoss Phoenix? The phoenix is from OUR mythology. Why would the Protoss with eons of their own great stories and histories debase their fighter craft with Terran filth??

Don't you know? The Protoss invented everything ever and the Terrans just took it and claimed they invented it!
Really though, I'm not sure how the translations/telepathy work; maybe the ships actually have a suitably Protoss name, and the Terrans can't translate it and just call it a phoenix.

(although, come to think of it, I think the original reason is because in the 2007 SC2 demo the Phoenix had the Overload ability that would cause the unit to burn out and be "dead" for a few seconds before "rising from its ashes"...? Maybe??) Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
