This tutorial is very simple, yet detailed enough to give many artists a good base for drawing crystals, gemstones, and anything else of the such.
Vision - 5 - This tutorial gives a very precise, step-by-step visual as well as text describing each step in the process.
Originality - 4 - There are likely many other tutorials similar to this one, but this particular tutorial is probably one of the best.
Technique - 5 - The technique is superior, and the finished product of the tutorial is very realistic and beautiful.
Impact - 5 - This tutorial will impact the people in the dA community, helping them improve some of their techniques as well as help other people who may not be in this community, but still seek the advisory information.
Overall, I think this tutorial is great. I favorited it of course, and plan to use it in the very near future in a possible work. The community and I thank you for presenting this tutorial to us.

VISION: Great. It looks gorgeous.
ORIGINALITY: Yet another tutorial, although I don't see many about crystals so I suppose that's something.
TECHNIQUE: Your art technique is great, but the tutorial itself didn't offer me much. How do you draw the original sketch? What are some common shapes for crystals? How do you know where to add the light? What are some different ways to alter the gradient colors for maximum effect? What are your brush sizes/settings? (opacity, hardness, etc.) Are you doing everything on one layer or on several different ones?
IMPACT: It's not going to change the world, but it conveys your style nicely.

Now, I see and know that for lighting it's that the color is Β a lighter shade towards the side the light is coming from, but if the crystal was the light source, would the same rule apply, just from all sides?

May I ask, what brush did you used? I'm trying to find the right brush in photoshop CC defaults for the light but nothing really convinces me. (Or maybe I'm just too picky)

May I make a suggestion as to avoid using Colour Dodge? Using hue-shift shading, while mostly limited to more stylized images and pixel artwork, could help bring out the reflections a little more.
