While I can't really critique your artwork I'd like to just ask on do you have to crop macro pictures?
I'm interested in buying a macro lens and was curious on how much post production you'd need for things like this quality?
It may also work better on a full frame camera I guess so my idea might not be the best.

Hi there, the pics in my gallery arent cropped at all. I usually only crop when the bugs arent centered enough.
The techique used in this pic is called stacking. Simply put, you take a load of photos where you adjust the focus a tiny bit for each photo. After that you use a program for putting the focus from each photo together to one pic, which creates a image with a much better depth of field.
Still, most photos in my gallery are normal one-shot photos. The gear I use is a Canon 7D and a sigma 105mm macro lens and a lens called MP-E 65 for the larger cloeups.

I heard about focus stacking, at the moment I only use Picasa for very rudimentary edits.
If I get curious enough to do macro shots then I'll keep your advice in mind!
