To all of you Spitfire shippers: Sorry! This is not a spitfire story

So. An AU based on a dream I had.
Basically Justice League and Young Justice with a CSI like job.

It started when Wally needed a new partner to help with a case, since his previous partner- Dick Grayson- had to leave the city for a while. Some family business, that he had to do in Gotham.
So Wally got assigned this Crock girl. And he was not happy about it. She was not too trilled about it too.
They had to investigate something that for some reason concerned drugs, science and teacher conspiracy.
In my dream Wally was really grumpy, that they had to go to some college to interrogate this one science proffesor.
Like, Wally knew science better than him. But they needed this cover, because, there WAS a teacher conspiracy going on, and they needed to take information from him. One of them would do the small talk while the other would search through his desk.
Artemis was great at that, and even Wally was surprized, that she found what they were looking for, in like, no time at all.

Later, there was a scene, when they were in some run down building, investigating some drug dealers house. They found drugs and a small child. Wally immediately came to the rescue, all soothing and comforting and they took the boy outside. Wally promised him that he would visit him in the hospital. Artemis was kind of mad at him, because 'why are you giving promises you can't keep' and Wally was like '...what. I am SO gonna visit him. I visit all the kids at the hospital and orphanage all the time. wtf'
Some time after, when they were both spending the night at the office, trying to find new leads, while joking tiredly over coffee, they noticed, that with their bickering, they turned from two people forced to spend time with each other, to two fairly good friends and scarily good partners.
Then, after a while, they went to investigate this one parking lot, since they got information that the main bad guy will be there.
Wally watched one side of the lot, Artemis wached the other.
Wally noticed a sniper laser and pushed Artemis out the way at the last second. And because he's a magnet for trouble, he got shot in the process.
They managed to corner the bad guy anyway, but what is it? plot twist! He had some kind of bomb planted on the other side of the city, along with a bunch of hostages. And he had the detonator somewhere in the parking lot!
...
'We already took time of the bomb' said Artemis much to the bad guy's horror.
'WHAT?! What about the hostages?!'
'Safe and sound at the police station' replied Wally with a smile.

Basically they saved the day, because they are awesome and bad-ass.

Wally came to work, even though he was shot, because 'the house is waaay to empty without Dick there. So I'll do the paper work and maybe I'll get more off days to go on a trip to somewhere.'
And Artemis was all like 'Wait. You live with Dick? I thought he was your partner.'
'Yes'
'He's your partner...and he's your partner ?'
'Yes. And he's awesome! You have to meet him! Oh also, you have to meet Kaldur, Megan, Conner and Zee! C'mon!'
And he introduced her to the others (And she probably eventually started dating one of them maybe. You decide which one ; ) )

Later there was a welcome back surprize party for Dick.
And Artemis had to laugh when John Steward had to phisycally hold Wally down from running ahead and picking Dick up and twirling him around, because 'oh for the love of- Wally! You just came out of the hospital because of a bullet wound, you hotshot! No picking stuff up with that arm! >:I '

And Artemis finally met Dick and yes, he was awesome. He was also a little brat.
They became quick friends.
And since Grayson was back, and he was Wally's partner, it meant, that Crock needed to look for a new one.
Suddenly Wally and Dick walked over to her and asked if she wanted to join them on missions, permanently.
They used to be a trio, Wally, Dick and Roy before he decided to go solo and become a private detective.
So they were actually looking for someone. And Artemis was great, and they all balance each other out.
And Artemis agreed.
They became the best CSI team in the universe.
