Description One of a range of small 'cube' boxes that I've produced. I tried to think of as many ways of making a simple form, such as a cube beautiful in its own right. I've always loved the idea of making wood appear to have the properties of other materials, Like wax (The Melting Table) or fabric (Some of my other Cubes). In this piece I simply carved out the 'Pith wood' on half the Cube and then just stitched up the corners of the piece with leather.

Yes, I like stitches in wood! I've done some work with separate pieces of wood, joined by stitches serving as hinges. (sorry, I have no pics) Nice work!
