This fighter seems like it would be equally at home in space or in an atmosphere without a repulsorlift.

I just saw Adam´s renderfinish, and was about to annoy him about the details, then i saw the link to your page and decided, you are the better one to punctur with questions.
This design resembles a combination of Hunter, Advanced and Interceptor.
But it´s still short range (hyperdrive optional)

I don´t think that´s a real drawback, it can be used as garrison on a lunar base, deep space base or assteroid base as well as on carrier ships.
I meant it more like, is it a new interceptor design or meant for patrol.

You're missing the housings for the laser cannons in the side view elevation.
