Wow, it's really pretty! In case you'd like some critique, it is just a little too flat (2D in stead of 3D) at some points (especially the chest) and it would be better if it wasn't so outlined on some parts. On the other hand, I haven't realy got the right to comment it. I don't do this kind of artwork on the computer, so anything I create would most probably be a lot worse!!

It IS something between cartoon and realistic realm! I think no one can avoid this deviation after looking to the lion's eyes -- too expressive and cute to do it ^^ Besides the gorgeous coloring, because yes you did a great job with colors, light and shadow indeed, this is absolutly fantastic Definitly a great daily feature well deserved! Oh and btw I loved your gallery -- everything in it is great ^^

Proud? I don't thinmmy brain has even begun to grasp this concept O_O <_< >_> *fumbles clumsily with fingers* MEEP! I never even thought about daily deviation, just seemed too out of reach with all the stars of deviant! Why is everyone I'm devwatching becoming so AMAZING?!

Balaa, I don't know what to say. I guess I can sum up any and all possible comments with KEEP THIS STYLE IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I looked at the full view and... WOW. Simply WOW.

First off: the fur. I can see that it is slightly minimal as far as the color variation goes, and yet it looks absolutely flawless and perfect. the little things such as the dark on the forehead, the shadow before the highlight on the cheek, and the broken outline on the left side of the cougar's neck all appear to be in perfect placement. I've always been quite fascinated by many artists' approach and coloring body fur as you've done on the neck, and I can say that I am pleasantly surprised. He looks absolutely huggable! Wonderful shading/highlighting work on this one.

Second: the eye. Probably the most important part of this image, and I can safely say you have not distracted the viewer by any misplacement or miscolorings. In fact, the first thing that drew me in when I looked at the full size image was the green in the eyes. It branches from the pupil in such a beautiful and natural way that it really catches the viewer's attention, especially on such a bright yellow background. I was also drawn to the highlights on the eye. The one on top is the main highlight, I'm sure, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see the highlights from the sunlight on the sides of them. And the eye's placement has been very well done. Not only do they fit very naturally and evenly on the head, but they do not distract from one another in that they are not out of line with each other, a problem many artists suffer even when they get this good.

Third: the face and expression. As the eyes were the object that made this realistic and believable, the expression is what sparks the imagination and makes it beautifully surreal. The expression brings an effect to this image that a simple life drawing would not. You can see the curiousity in the cougar's face and the playfulness in his smile. The nose also looks slightly crooked and a bit stylistically "weighted down" on the right side (I don't know if this was intentional, or even if it makes any sense) which, like the expression, brings a nice artistic side to the piece.

And for a piece that was just an experiment of light and dark, you've definately succeeded. The entire image seems to glow. There is such contrast and such warmth in the highlights, especially the yellow of them as it flows into the brightest spots behind the ear (which are in themselves a marvel to look at, albeit they contribute to the surreality of this image).

I could probably go on about this pic (and I'm sure you wouldn't mind that), but I wouldn't want the ego balloon to burst. I just felt this pic meritted some heavy-duty praise. It just has this feel about it that I couldn't explain in simple, "That's amazing!" terms. There's just so much warmth and life to this image. Like someone else said, "it looks like it could get up and walk away."

And if you don't think I'm faving this... pfft. Too bad.

Oh My goodness! I am truly FLABBERGASTED and beyond words(though of course I seem to still managed to find some )! I truly did not believe this picture would get anywhere near a response like this!!! I just thought id upload it and get a little feedback, I Truly couldn't imagine people would like this piece. It was a struggle from the start and I near gave up on it mooore than several times but wow...my heart just skip a beat at your words. Thank you truly for the kind and remarkably touching words *BIG HUG*

No problem. See, I probably wouldn't have commented so big, but I was COMPLETELY taken aback when I saw this thing in full-view. The amount of detail, smoothness, life... it was amazing and I figured the image really deserved hefty comments. What you give should be equal to what you get.

And you got a daily deviation on top of that. Lucky you.
