Having the durndest time actually falling asleep and staying asleep of late. So instead of watching some brainless tv show or staring at the wall..decided to pull out some paper and a pencil and draw whatever came to mind. Started with the weird building atop and then drew the little sailship to the left of the building and it kinda progressed after that. The lionesque design doesn't have a mast because I didn't have space on the paper.Related content

i like the ideas you had for the sailships. i've been wondering how to draw ships that look like they're from other worlds. and this gives me some ideas. thanks.

i like your designs its very creative especially that building. reminds me of sydneys opera house and and a gothic cathedral merged together. I like the ship too with a swan as figurehead. keep it up

wow gorgeous!! heh the lioness boat can be a liferaft for one of the other ships... the oars are hiding inside. thats my theory..

The dragon-y ones remind me of Chronicles of Narnia.

Dang! I am so glad you couldn't sleep (sorry but gosh the results are just too good). I have too tell ya this would be an excellent scene for a story line... I can see actaully many of your works this way.... Just seem to be screaming a story out of them... Nice!

I love the way you incorporated animal designs into most of these. Though the griffin one really makes me happy - I've seen swan boat designs before, as well as dragons. But griffins and lions I've never seen - very cool. If I ever needed a boat, I'd like one like those.
