Wow that's so weird, I saw the word 'sunder' in a poem today and had to look it up. Why did you choose it?
Love this piece from you, the use of sizing creates an interesting impact...

If you need help with wings, I can give you a couple of great links. I made a tutorial a while back as well.
I love the sky in this! The cloud looks both like a normal cloud and a nebula.

also thank you for your comment! I was bantering to a friend that I rather wanted to paint skyscapes reminescent of nebulae and so to hear that other people are seeing the resemblance makes me infinitely happy and stupidly grinny x).

I have plenty of references of wings and know of a few great sites with ample species specific references. It's more the fact that I can't seem to wrap my mind around the perspective aspect...ie when a bird is in flight, how the wing appears from a distance depending on the angle of the viewer or the position of the wings in flight. I also tend to forget feather layering, but I just double check these things. I think it's just a touch of dyslexia more than anything x). Thank you though and Ill still happily take you up on those links. Can never have enough good references on hand!

Drawing wings from different angles is... very challenging. Foreshortening is bad enough as it is without feathers! It drives me near to insanity sometimes.
