Description
i was street shooting with my friend jason a few weeks ago and we ended up in the food court at the eaton centre to get away from the pouring rain outside when we saw this woman.to me she has a very interesting appearance and i think her body language and expression is very particular in this photo.
we sat down right across from her because i knew i wanted to take a picture and i put my zeiss ikon down on the table facing her. i waited a bit until she looked at me and then i took the photo.
she knew that i was going to take a picture of her and i feel like she kind of gave me this shot intentionally.
this is a neg scan from tri-x film shot with a zeiss ikon and a biogon 35mm f/2 lens - developed in ilfosol 3 at 800 iso in my school's dark room.

It's a great shot - I'm actually thinking of getting one of these Zeiss 35/2's for the M4 I am using - this shot is helping me to make up my mind to do it!

Most people in malls tend to give dirty looks when you're trying to take a photo
Classic look though, with some great gear.

i don't think she was like most people though. i don't think this was a dirty look either. she had a very peculiar set of facial expressions. this was just one of them.
thanks!! some great gear indeed.

Nice shot. I find it interesting you waited for her to look at you before taking a shot. I guess its not always about trying to blend in. Maybe depends on the subject too, how are they likely to react is what i'm getting at.
ps - loving the #street group.

thanks dude - sometimes it's about the interaction between the subject and i still wanted it to have a voyeuristic feel to it which is why i didn't put the camera up to my eye ... but i wanted to catch her gaze at the same time.
i'm loving the street group as well. so far it's looking great!

um. wow. This is really amazing. I guess walking around with your camera on your neck 24/7 really pays off eh? do you sleep with it or what?
