Description
This is a relatively short an simple little tutorial video that will walk you through steps for creating realistically smooth skin with out a plastic or porcelain effect that can often result from blurring an image.I would like to thank ~nanamarchesi here at deviantART for the use of her image "No Title"

Really, really nice.
I was always a depressed about other tutorials, since whenever they would show something, it would just look fake, plast ic or porcellain as you said.
But with this, It looks as you said it: perfect.
Thanks for sharing that method

Thank you for these tutorials, they are great. But you sound a little bit like Captain Obvious. You could make these videos much shorter without excessive explanations.

Nice tutorial! But I think it's better to use Median tool instead of Gaussian Blur, but that depends on the image Thanks for making it!

The tutorial was mad for speed. These days I use surface blur for any thing that counts n(along with a few other different tools). It does however take a while to render.
If I'm working with an image that was shot as true 14 bit it can take ages to render a good quality surface blur. I just start it and go cook dinner or something and it's done when I get back.

I've never come across this technique before but you've made it look really simple - and it looks easy to adjust the strength of the effect as necessary. Thanks for making such a detailed and informative tutorial!

Thank you!
Amazing, this is very nice. I've been using the blur tool lately, and not only does it look fake, but it's so easy to screw the whole thing up. I work for a wedding, portrait, and sports photographer, and now I have something to show off!

If you want to show how it really works just keep in mind that you can split the gray values for both the black and white. works well for blonds and light backgrounds) Also create a layer mask to ensure that the eyes and lips are sharp. The tutorial was short sweet and to the point but can be vastly improved on.
Happy day and happy hunting<
