Steve, who very recently committed grevious injury on said brother Vile is scared to lose, having almost killed him and trying to think up a rationale explanation for why Hero is in fact wearing his shirt... yah buddy this is the part you slip out before they do something stupid... like loop you into their plans (for plot reasons) to deal with Notch. Or kill you. Killing is bad.
Also, what little family he... has left... implying that there was more at some time? Or is he simply referring to Notch? Who... I am pretty sure still considers Vile a brother. Did he know about Sam? Who else IS THERE?! CAT?!?!!

Vile and Hero are starting to get a long a little better and I think Hero cheered him up by saying that. At least Vile can place more trust in him now.

Let's not forget that Vile was reprimanded by Notch for killing people because it was his nature and it was justified in his reasoning (Aka : for the lulz of it).

Finally. Vile's broken heart is finally showing. He's finally showing how sad he truly is. Those bottled up emotions are starting to spill out, as his anger and good intentions. Hero can finally see how broken his brother is, and just how broken his heart actually is, under Vile's hard stoned exterior. That's one brother you've shown your heart to. One more to show your true feelings to. Give him a hug, Hero. After all the stress he's been under, a hug will really help.
I bet that Vile's going to break into tears soon.
