Clark Ashton Smith is a MUST READ writer for anyone who loves real, unrestrained fantasy. Return of the Sorcerer is a great story, but only one of many greater works! The City of the Singing Flame, The Chain of Aforgomon, The Dweller in the Gulf, The Dark Eidolon, etc. Fantastic weird work which in my opinion surpasses Lovecraft in many areas.

It lifts my spirits every time I see an illustration of Smith's stories, especially one so rarely acknowledged as his others! This is an excellent rendering of that gruesome, chilling climax!
