Description
Messiah Crost or King of the Beggars, deity of the lower pantheon. He is portrayed as a dwarf or, more often, as a baby with an ugly face who sits on a bed of rat carcasses. This bed is placed on the back of a giant rat. Although the cult of this deity is quite common, getting into it will only be possible for truly destitute people. In a dream or in a fit of hallucinations (at least it seems to those people who want to get into the service of the Messiah) a giant rat comes to a man who then carries him to a bed of rat carcasses. There, a deity embodied in the form of a baby, invites a person to drink from a tin goblet. If the liquid in the cup seems to be delicious for the applicant (in fact, the cup can be filled with slop or rotten bile), this means that he is ready to take the first step to enter the service to the King of the Beggars. Otherwise, the former applicant first faints, unable to withstand the terrible taste of swill, then, after some time, comes to himself somewhere in the slum. Often, the body of people who have not undergone a drinking ceremony from a goblet suffers from malodorous diseases acquired after a sip. Also mutations occur periodically.
