Description Just for you guys.

Tutorial and Icon (C) ~basi
QG and character ref (C) ~Queen-of-Greyhounds
Pose ref (C) Whoever made it.

EDIT - I forgot to list the settings for saving it! *gets aggrivated with self* Anyway, I believe I left the settings on default and simple checked the "Transparent," "Animate," and "Loop" boxes. Then set the frame delay and you're good to go.

By the way, APSE costs about $50 last time I checked. It doesn't have a lot of the options that some of the programs have, but it's easy to use and fairly cheap in comparison.

I'm glad you found it useful!

I'm sure you can apply it to other programs, but I'm only familiar with Elements. I'm sorry I couldn't be of further assistance.

NOW I'll comment. Okay. That was a wonderfully helpful tutorial that just let me produce my first sucessful pixel Icon. I was always trying to shade with pixels - how stupid of me! Much obliged, thank'ee. <3

I'm glad you found it useful.

You weren't stupid. Sometime it's best to pixel in the shading. I just flat out don't like to take the time. I take enough time as it is. >.<

Though I actually like the effect much better with the burn/dodge. :3 it gives it a cleaner depth.

Thia really does help I had a question though....and it might sound dumb but, yea...how do you do the letters so that they change colors?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

basi In reply to ClemiKinkajou [2005-11-07 23:38:29 +0000 UTC]

There are not dumb questions, only dumb answers. ^.^

I take the finished image and copy it, then paste it into a new layer a bunch of times.
Then, I take the fill tool and fill in the letters, one letter per layer going down the word and then coming back, but not coloring the first letter again.
Then, I got to File, Save for Web... (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S), Change it to GIF (if it isn't already) and check the Transparency, Animate, and Loop boxes.
Then, I set the Frame Delay to zero (the animation is smoother that way) and hit OK.

Simple.
