Description
Well, everyone's in a hullabaloo over Ace Combat 7 being shown off at E3, which came with details about more of the playable aircraft, including the F-14D, so I figured I'd whip this up.F-14D "FG 015" callsign "Mage 2" of the Osean Navy, flying off the OFS Albatross during punitive strikes against Erusea in 2019. Loadout is 2 AIM-9M Sidewinders and 2 GBU-24 Paveway IIIs.

From what I've seen so far, the "8AAM" is included as an armament option as well. It carries 8 AIM-120s in Enclosed Weapons Pods under the wings similar to the F-22A from the trailers.

Yes, it is, and it's fucking stupid. The Tomcat is fully capable of carrying 8 AMRAAMs without sticking them in a pair of oversized boxes that keep it from opening the landing gear doors.

The infrastructure required to run a large number of AMRAAM's is already available on the Super Tomcat, the idea of bolting massive pods to the aircraft as some means of evading radar or increasing payload is pointless. All I can think of is the devs just reusing the F-22's weapons pods for the sake of saving time.

Updated it to remove the Sparrows since it doesn't actually have them in game.
