It depends on the size they are? I've used polymer clays, apoxie sculpt(not Epoxy clay, that's something else), paperclay and wax. Most of the time I use paperclay because it's fast and sands easily. Once I have my original done, I make a mold and cast it in polyurethane resin. Lir is a polyurethane cast that I've built up on with Apoxie Sculpt.

If you look through my gallery and my instagram: [link] you'll find them. :3 The wax casts are green and the paperclay is white. Paperclay is essentially a very, very fine papermache. you can make it yourself, but it's sort of a mess. I use the kind made by premier. I blob it together, let it dry, then I go back and carve and sand to get the details.

I learned by doing. I've been making dolls for about ten years. I was a sculpture major for a short time, but any kind of figural works were discouraged, so all I really learned there was how to make plaster molds and just how much misogyny the fine arts world has to offer.

No, I'm also a 3d artist for a small game company.
What i like the most about dolls is that no one can tell me what to do. XD I'm in charge of my own aesthetic.

I love doing 3d work. It's like a big Lego set.

I adore this faceplate because she looks angry and also a bit like an unseelie fairy or even slightly alien. Very versatile. What system will it be compatible with? Fairyland, Unoa, or something else? I still have your Peanut faceplate! I love that sculpt, too.

She fits the Lagoon faceplate... i like the lagoon face, but this is closer to what i wanted for myself. Kind of like how Gamma is the universal face but i made Epsilon for myself. X3 hardly anyone likes him, but i don't care! D:

I prefer Epsi. I think that people like Epsilon but Gamma more.
