Orthos or turn arounds are what you use to make models for video games and movies. Usually the concept artists, like my husband, make them for the modelers, like me, to work from. X3 I thought was what you meant by 3d model! XD

Hmmm... I think I dug myself into more polys than I know what to do with! I think I should use a cylinder instead of modding a square...

It's a really good start! I use mostly Maya and Max, so i don't know that i can be of much help with actual modeling... i do environments and textures mostly. [link] does a lot of work in blender and might be able to help you out with questions on it.

See... I'd use Max but it's so much more complicated. ;_; Though I've seen some nice low polys in Max it seemed Blender's UI was simpler. I like to use the KISS system. :3
Thanks though. ^^ I think using the same method I did for my first model would work out better instead of trying to cut up a block to make more sections.

I didn't... οΌΒ΄γ»Ογ»ο½οΌ I probably should. I really only saw ~Xeno-striker 's tut for blender and this one . Never really looked for anything else after I kinda stopped with my one little model. οΌββ½βοΌοΌ
Do you recommend any for low poly? High poly scares me. Ξ£οΌγΠ΄γοΌοΌ

i've never really done high poly myself... the company i work for does MMOs for kids, so we work pretty low poly. We use maya, but i started in max. I just went through the tutorials in the program to get to know the tools and that helped a lot.
