Description
It is believed that the life of tyrannosaurs after reaching maturity was not too long. An adult female Tyrannosaurus bears traces of past injuries received in fights with relatives. By the age of 28, the inflammation caused by microorganisms introduced through the wounds had progressed so much that the female had practically lost the ability to hunt. Gradually weakening, the eight-ton predator found a quiet, shady place where no one disturbed her, and lay down on the ground so as to reduce the pain from wounds and inflammation. And here, under the cries of birds and the rustling of leaves, she quietly passed away.
