Description
Here it is, in all it's painted glory. (Insert LOZ Discovery music) The Guardian of Hyrule... that is the name I am going with. I thought it fits because Link is prety much the Guardian of Hyrule and half of the handle guard is half of his shield.. hence guarding.. The idea came partly from fellow Deviant datazeroone2 because of his suggestion: "Hylian Defender" For those who don't know, this is my first attempt at designing my own custom keyblade. I chose to theme it after The Legend of Zelda because LOZ Twilight Princess was by far my all time favorite game... I still remember the day I finished it, I think I was 8 or 9, definitely one of my proudest moments.The keyblade is entirely composed of MDF except for the green deer skin wrapping the handle. The pieces were cut out with a jigsaw and hand carved with a knife and assorted wood working tools. The total length is exactly 4 feet not including the keychain and it took about two weeks to finish. That includes coming up with the design, cutting and carving, and then painting.

I still haven't finished Twilight Princess, but I still love it, play it occasionaly started over recently, skipped a "few" heart pieces that now seem unnecessary, milk is the key to saving Hyrule at the beginning, red potion will be the key once I have 9 hearts... Just having it, not necessarily using it makes you live longer. This play-through I am at the part where Bulbins and birds must ALL DIE because fire, who's ever idea it was to give birds bombs I hate, I don't like this section, beaten it in the past, but still don't like it. Goron Mines were easier this time then I remember, didn't die once due to mob, only my bad par-core. I only lost the second fairy due to a glitched out shadow beast section, the first in the first joust, which ironically after bringing up a save and buying two bottles of milk I won in two passes.

What so impressive about this, is the amount of effort put into creating it. Anyone can draw a fictional Keyblade. But not everyone can create a 3D fictional Keyblade and have it turn out this good.

The design is very cool, and the paint job looks nice. The wood itself could've used more smoothing out with sandpaper and the angles and positioning cleaned up.

Awesome, i cant wait to see it! Also, have you ever tried using bondo? It works great for sculpting and filling, and if you put a layer over the surface before finish sanding, it looks and feels so smoooth

Actually I have, when I once made a stormtrooper helmet using pepakura, I then covered it in bondo.. though I never thought about using it to seal my swords... that's a really good idea especially if I wet sand it, thanks man
