Description thanks so much to for allowing me to color her beautiful fairy drawing! ^__^ (which can be found here: [link] )

color and typographic design inspirations ranged from lithography prints, vintage sewing pattern packages, the 1920s/30s, and art deco, with a touch of The Princess and the Frog. ^__^

also, a shout out to for the lovely paper texture. (found here: [link] ) thanksomuch!

I like everything you did to this! At first glance it looked like you'd turned it into an antique label for, like, some bath powder or something elegant like that.

Uh huh! ^__^ The goal was to make it look like it was printed with a more primitive technique--real "grahic-y"--almost like an early 1900's Montmartre lithographic print. I actually considered (even though I didn't give myself a chance to try it) slightly shifting the different colored layers so that they don't quite match up with the linework to make it look even more like it was printed.

1930s art deco was the inspiration for the typographic choices, and I also liked the idea of trying to make it look like a vintage sewing pattern.

It was a lot of fun. thanks again! ^__^
