Description
Gosh, this took longer than expected. I've been working on it on and off again for several hours at a time for the last... week? Yeah, about a week.Yeah, I really wanted to try my hand at drawing a victorian/gothic-y style haunted house for the Halloween season. After doing a bit of searching for reference images on google, I decided I liked this one best:

but in the process of my search, I also learned some really interesting architectural stuff--like, that the type of tall roof I was looking for is called a "Mansard roof", I learned that a Queen Anne style house has an asymmetrical wrap-around porch on one side, and I learned that the style of house I was trying to draw is referred to as "Second Empire". All very fascinating stuff. History of architecture is very interesting. Thank you, the internet, for teaching me things! ^__^
So... I hope you enjoy this little piece. it really is QUITE little, actually... in the original drawing, the house is only about three inches tall at its highest point. ^__^

I just have to say, that I have been wanting someone to draw a picture of exactly this for some time now. I have no actual artistic skills, but I've had this picture in my head for some time now...and here randomly I find someone has drawn it for me.
Holy crap and thank you!

heh. oddly enough, that was actually kind-of why I had created it. I was looking for it too, and hadn't found it. I had actually first wanted to do it as a stereogram--two images side by side, and when you cross your eyes, merging the images, it appears 3-D. It's fairly easy to do with simple images, but I found this drawing got to be quite complex, so the stereogram thing never happened. ^__^;
I think it's really cool that we had the same image in mind, tho. Thanks for sharing (and for the fav)! I really appreciate it. ^__^
