Description yeah. this took kind-of a long-ish time to put together. It's done! yay. ^__^

oiy.

At ACen this past year we bought paper wallets from one of the vendors in artist alley. They were pretty awesome. 3 bucks per wallet. I kinda wanted to figure out how to make my own so that I do some custom artwork for it, and I found a "how to" link on youtube.

So on an off again I worked on this throughout the month of July (and into August), with one major-ish mishap along the way--I had cropped the thing to see how it would look once it was folded then continued to work without saving my project. After a while I tried to go back to the "un-cropped" version only to find that it was long gone on the history bar. TT_TT It was quite fail. So...

Let this be a lesson to you kids! SAVE EARLY, SAVE OFTEN.

Yes. Yes indeed.

Not sure if this is a fandom or some OCs of yours, but either way, this was cool. I like how you manage to combine realistic-type drawings with manga style. Your drawing style looks like you should be an animator for a TV show.

Anywho...

I'm probably the only person in the world who's weird enough to think this way, but as much as I love the art of burdge bug, I actually like your style better.

It's probably 'cause I'm an anime nut, LOL.

Have a nice day!!

Oh, thank you so much! It's so good to hear someone say that. I'm actually hoping to get into the animation industry eventually. I moved from Illinois to Southern California three-and-a-half years ago to take animation classes and try and break into the industry. Crazy as it may sound, I believe God's got a purpose for me in this.

and I'm actually really pleased/flattered that someone actually prefers my work to burdge bug. She's so popular! (and she's also on MY watch list, too. ) So, thanks for that. It's very sweet of you to say so! ^__^

Also, yes, the characters in this are actually original characters, but they aren't mine. They're actually my friend Andrea's, but we've talked about them so often together that sometimes it feels like I have joint-custody of them. lol. Or partial creative rights at least. ^__^; This wallet was a birthday gift for her last year, and she was really pleased with it.

AND also--thank you for all the s!! <3

LOL! You're welcome!

Yeah, you're really good! Your style reminds me a bit of this comic series I loved as a kid...

But yes, while burdge is *good* (I mean, wow!), I really *do* like your drawings better. (For example: You're better at boys and young children than she is.)

Burdge's style is very...realistic, and while that's cool, I prefer a bit more of a comic style myself.

And your drawings are so cooly (is that a word?) colored!

So yes, I like them a LOT!

Haha. About the favourites, you're totally welcome! I wish you would draw more! You don't have very much in your gallery. (At least not from series I know.)

Have you read Hunger Games? I know you read Gregor...What about Percy Jackson? Or 39 Clues? If you follow Burdge, then you know she draws for those...

Well, thanks for replying!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

Thank you, again, so much!! ^__^

Yes, even though I do love burdge bug's work, some of the things that I think would be a benefit for her to work on would be creating different character types. Her characters are beautiful, but a lot of them look the same. Usually the difference between one of her characters and any other is simply the hairstyle and color. This is actually something that I've tried to work at as well, and trying to do that is not always as simple as it sounds--especially when an artist is used to drawing the same character time many many times. Another thing she would benefit from is to work on her coloring technique--possibly get photoshop. Or it'd be cool if she could get a colorist/clean-up artist. Believe me, I've considered offering/requesting permission to do so on a few drawings that she's done. I think it'd be cool to collaborate with her.

As for books I've read--I've read the first in the Hunger Games series (I've wanted to draw Katniss, but haven't made time for it yet...), I've read only the first book in the Underland Chronicles, and I STARTED reading Percy Jackson, but didn't get very far before I put it down. I was diggin' the first chapter or so, but it kinda fizzled out for me for after a bit. And 39 Clues I have not yet heard of, actually. So I might have to look into that. Another book/series of books that I've been meaning to check out (but they're never available at our library--always checked out...) are the Maximum Ride books. They seem pretty cool. And I've... sort-of done a drawing of Max... just a shoulder-up pic. minus the wings. I haven't finished her yet, though. still needs shading on the coloring.

You're welcome. And thanks for the conversation. ^__^ And you also have a very good day. er, night. shoot, good rest of your week, how 'bout? A good seven days worth of goodness.

You're welcome.

OH! That'd be SOOOO cool! Do it! (Burdge is usually very good about letting people colour her drawings.) Yeah, you two are probably the best artists on the site. It'd be so cool if you DID collaborate in some way or another.

Really? That's a pity, I love those books.

I'm reading Max Ride right now. It's very good. But like the Hunger Games, it is a PAIN IN THE BUTT to find at the library! (Which, really, is why there are book stores. )

Anyway, if you *do* draw Katniss, I'd love to see that! And yes, Burdge uses the same style for all her characters.

Personally, I think she draws Harry and James Potter I the best on the individuality scale. Her Annabeth Chase is also very good. But she tends to draw adults, which is a downer, because most of the books she draws for, the characters are kids! I've also noticed she's not very good at hands or feet. This is kinda random, but I don't think she draws ears often either, come to think.

I think I'm good at making girls look different, but I'm not very good with drawing boys, so...haha. Have to work on that!

But yes, I think you're pretty good about giving characters individuality. You, like pretty much everyone else, have your own "uniform" style that marks it as your drawing, but I can still tell the difference between who you intend such-and-such to be.

Like with your Ouran drawing. Even though Haruhi has that short, boyish hairstyle, I can still pick her out. And while I *do* also agree that I think a lot of Burdge's guy drawings look quite alike, I think you did a good job showing the differences (ie, in facial structure) between the Ouran boys.

Anywho, the 39 Clues is a series about two kids traveling across the world to prevent their relatives from assembling all 39 Clues, which are the key to the Master Serum, which will make the drinker the most powerful person on earth. There's a lot of history in the books, but it's not boring at all! It's a very fun, interactive series. (Though you can choose to just read the books, if you want.) There are 11 books in the first series, and the first in the second series will be coming out soon. I saw the preview for it, and I'm really excited, because it looks like it's gonna be good! (Oh, and if 11 books sounds like a lot, let me just say, they're all shorter than the first Gregor book, even the tenth book, which is the longest thus far.)

Oh, you're welcome. You're fun to talk to! Would you mind taking a peek at what I draw? I'd like to know what you think, if it's not too much trouble.

Haha. It's morning, actually. But yes, you have a good week too!
