Disclaimer: NOT DRAWN BY ME!! The artist is Ran Mutsuki, and she had done several line art drawings for people to try out Copic markers at AM2 and Anime Expo this past weekend.

This was my first real opportunity to color with Copic markers, and I absolutely LOVED it. As you can see, I didn't get a chance to finish coloring this because the area at AM2 where the Copic markers booth was closed before I could finish. It was so cool, though! These markers are so awesome. I'm usually really apprehensive when it comes to using marker/ink/paint to color drawings because it seems like it's so easy to irreversibly mess up with them, but Copic markers are pretty forgiving, and they blend really nicely together. I especially love the super light tones that you can layer to create darker and lighter areas. Mm... I want a set for my birthday... ^__^ (which is not until November... D

But yeah, I had a ton of fun coloring this, and it was kinda cool to have people looking over my shoulder as I was coloring. I really liked the instant positive feedback from my peers. I was so delighted that people really liked what I was doing.

And then, of course, they would ask questions like, "wow, did you draw that??" And I was like, "no. no I didn't..." TT.TT and then they were all less impressed with my "mad colorin' skillz". xD But quite a lot of people paid compliments to my coloring, and one gal even asked for my DeviantArt address!! ^__^ So yeah, I had a really good time.

My only regret is that I didn't have a chance to meet the artist who drew this lovely picture. We were told that she would be there the next day. I even half-considered calling off work for that day so that I might have the chance to meet her. Ah, well... another time I suppose...
