Description
This was completed during the summer between 8th grade and 9th grade (circa 2001), using a 30-day free trial of Macromedia Flash 5.0 that I spent thee and a half hours downloading on a 56k dial-up modem via AOL 4.0.It was my very first completed Flash project, starting out as a crude animation of a moose peeing and growing as I taught myself how to create buttons and import sounds (that's my dad pouring water onto a metal bowl, and my voice doing everything else).
The moose isn't Grouped together at any time, nor is it ever a Symbol of any kind, and all of the moose's actions are dealt with in separate Scenes, rather than Movie Clips.
When he craps, you'll notice that parts of his tail disappear, as I animated it frame by frame without separating the elements into their own pieces.
When I was in 8th grade, my mom's aunt, who I'd never met, was diagnosed with cancer (I actually don't know what has happened to her since), and we went to visit her. Her ten year old daughter, unawares of her mother's condition, took me upstairs to check out the BRAND NEW iMac (lol!!), which had Flash 5 loaded onto it. I immediately made an animation of a stick figure exploding.
When I returned from my aunt's, I carried to my best friend's house the tale of an amazing computer program that would allow us to create cartoons. We spent almost 6 hours downloading the 30-day trial onto his computer, using a ten foot phone cable running from his kitchen to his bedroom, and started animating the title sequence to a story we wrote (the audio exists somewhere, but the title sequence is lost to time).
Across the street from my house live another "friend" who was younger than I was, but always looking to prove himself. His dad worked with computers in some capacity, and as soon as I mentioned to this boy that I liked Flash, he immediately already knew all about it and claimed that by the next day, he would bring a disc over with the full version on it.
I was skeptical, but he delivered, and agreed that I could borrow the disc over night as long as I didn't make any copies of it.
I copied the files onto my computer, and have been using the same pirated version of Macromedia Flash 5 for the last 8 years. It is my web design tool, my own programming application, and my photo-editing software, as well as an animation tool.
Flash revolutionized the way the internet operated and has allowed me the widest outlet for my artistic compulsions I have yet to find. Without Flash, I don't know what I'd be doing - and that's not an understatement. So many weeks and months were poured into drawing, zooming, tweening, and syncing that it couldn't NOT affect my life.

lol, thank you!!
When I was first starting out on Flash, I was initially very heavily influenced by killfrog . com - as it was one of the only all Flash based websites I had seen and enjoyed at the time (now there's a ton and, ironically, killfrog is HTML based - oh time!), and they had a few simple button clicking games in addition to the animations. The humor is more or less in line, as well. My art was just really shitty.

Yep. Your graphics really aren't the best in this flash, but this in fact is what it makes so awesome!
In the end you can always say it was intended to look like that

lol - there's actually a "remake" with an intro and MUCH better graphics. The animation, though, isn't nearly as good - and there aren't any sounds. So it LOOKS better, but it's not as satisying.

This is disturbing. *twitches*
Not only did make this moose here, but then you go on to admit that you pirated a program. ><

and then another voice interrupted and said
"NO, Sean - let it go."

lmao, I thank you for that very same Flash 5 copy. Your introducing me to Flash back then was part of the catalyst to what I do today, I still use flash for web and blog design, as well as the projects i work on (like zombie recess).
CS4 is much nicer btw...

That drip sound effect is the OLD Windows filedrop.wav!
I recorded it from the speakers with a microphone.
