This illustration is for Potter's Field 3 and I was given the opportunity to illustrate yet another Pete Mesling story. I'm a huge fan of his work and truley enjoy his vivid imagery. So this was quite a treat. I would love your thoughts.Related content

Well, I've spoiled the surprise for myself by coming here to see what you've been working on. I can't tell you how thrilled I am to see that you were assigned to illustrate another one of my Potter's Field stories. Nicely done, sir. I love the sense of longing coming from the girl zombie. Can't wait for Potter's Field 3 to come out.

I absolutely love it. It really catches the zombie nature perfectly, and not to mention the details were wonderful, though may I ask, just so I don't sound even more retarded than I already am about to, You used a filter right?

A filter? You mean a photoshop filter.. Heavens no... I used traditonal pen and ink on bristol board. The only thing computer done is the black boarder. This is simply a black and white scan of a drawing I illustrated by hand..

Oh good I wanted to make sure before I made a comment that wasn't really suppose to be there. Then the comment I was going to make is gone, beautiful, absolutely beautiful though. Honestly, it looks like it must have taken quite some time to actually draw that, the details were wonderful and she shading too. So grotesque and beautiful at the same time.

Wow, really? I honestly would have expected more. I mean it is really detailed and to get such an appearence is really hard. Cadavers and zombies are really challanging to draw to get that decaying and rotting look right, and then to get that walking lifeless life air about them. What made you decide to sit and draw it?

It's a commisson piece for the Potter's Field 3 Horror anthology edited by Cathy Buburuz. The story "The Worst is Yet to Come" was written by Pete Miesling and I simply drew a scene from that story.

xD that is radical. I won't lie. Zombies are possibly the greatest thing in my eyes, and cannibalism next to it. I wish I could draw that well, I would be doing some grotesque stuff, I kind of want to draw a savage cannibal ripping through the flesh of a human arm. the focus would be on the meat and skin in his teeth and the cannibal's eyes.

Doesn't it though? If I could draw It, I would...but I can't. Vincent Locke....is absolutely amazing. Probably one of my favorite modern day artist. I didn't think I would come across someone who liked him too[[Seeing as I dont do much horror art, though I have a few photographs in which I want to get up of some gore scenes]].
