Description
This is the first illustration I did for the book. It was a kind of exam, to decide if I was going to do the illustrations or not. The liked a lot, the only problem being the nudity, but they decided very soon that they liked the way it is. so I disn't have to change it.Watercolor and a bit of photoshop.

Well, I think you did very well anatomically. (As fas as I can see anyway, which is not really far, I'm afraid)

I adore this...it's so very vibrant, and I agree, the nudity is not the focus of the piece although it is beautifully done.
Utterly gorgeous, well done

I don't know the underlying story but I know what you made out of it!

Thanks Spellatio. The story is about a girl and a God mad for love (or desire). She ask her father to save her and he transforms her in to a tree. There is no moral in it. That's the funniest thing about Ovid's stories. No good nor bad. He doesn't try to educate you. He just teach you to keep as far from the gods as possible

I've read most of Ovid's Metamorphoses in class, though I'm not a fan of mythology.
This is really wounderful though.

I am in awe. In art history I always loved renditions of Greek mythology and this one is perfect.

This is...breathtakingly beautiful. O_O
It's kind of heartbreaking to see this quality of art go unnoticed. Hope you don't mind if I recommend this for a Daily deviation.

An interesting subject in the least. I have always enjoyed the human trysts of the gods, but in this one a girl manages to escape the sun god's clutches. The nudity isn't a problem at all, though the way in which you present it could distract from the rest of your work.

I've always liked to draw the nude body. It's a subject I love. The only problem is some people (like publishers) can considere it embarrasing for their books.
