Ayeap Chrysalis is making a jump for power, I have the feeling in this universe Chrysalis in the middle of the Chaos during and after the wedding she swapped with Celestia. After all Celestia was put in that cocoon.

It buys time. Time that she can use to plan, that Twilight can use to wake up, and that backup can use to arrive. Time that you can use to give away vital information while you're mindlessly prattling on. It doesn't take a specific plan to see that stalling is in Sunset's favor.
And I'll point out that the shield in Canterlot did quite a bit. Just not everything.

this doesnt make any sense... keeping your fans on the dark can be a good thing but this is just like the comics of Rob Liefield. The first few pages was cool and all but now its just really confusing and its getting boring.

I'm guessing Fake Celestia only chose now of all times to reveal herself and kill everybody because Sunset Shimmer has effectively left Equestria completely defenseless with her "corrections". Could've been explained better, but... I applaud your moves, Beavernator.

more often than not, it feels like it.
her direct victory over celestia was a fluke. Chrysalis can be cunning but the only reason she beat celestia was because neither she nor celestia knew of her power up. celestia believed she oculd have overpowered chrysalis, and chrysalis did her best to bluff celestia.
Chrysalis herself admits after overpowering celestia that she only won because of the power up she got from feeding on shining armor's strong love. and considering she loses to twlight in the comics, it is clear that celestia's superior magic skills would have let her win if she knew about that power up. and if chrysalis knew, she would ahve bragged of course.
seriously why does everyone seem to overlook what the character HERSELF admits?

Celestia losing due to incompetenceΒ isn't really any better than her losing due to weakness. It makes it worse, actually. That suggests that a whole host of significantly weaker villains could stop Celestia as long as they manage to surprise her.

Your not alone on the subject of Chrysalis not knowing how powerful she became after draining Shining's love, but I still enjoy this comic and the Secret Life of Fleur. I am however a little bit confused when you say that something is "hamfisted", that's the word right ? What does exactly this means ? And am I the only one that doesn't get confused or thrown off by sudden or not so sudden plot twists ? Because I'm actually enjoying this little comic a lot.
