This series holds a special place in my heart. It came out during a time I really needed it and influenced me astronomically. I hadn't been this engrossed in a fandom in a long time and I'll never forget the impression it left on me; the headcanons, the tears, the stevenbombs, the queer rep that was fought for and celebrated. It's a lot of fond memories! But... Truthfully, I really wasn't very happy with the finale and the handling of the diamond authority... The movie was pretty fun (and I really wasn't expecting to like Spinel at all, so yay!), and SU Future was like... enjoyable to watch overall? But the culmination of everything left me with a lot of mixed feelings.... especially in regards to steven's mental deterioration/growth, writing off several overtly toxic characters, and the whole unresolved dictatorship mess. I've tried to write about it more in depth to parse my feelings but honestly... the series is over, it's just my opinion, and I don't really want to ruin anyone else's enjoyment or waste my time arguing about it. I just had to express it a little bit. So that's that. @_@

I'm not saying I'm boycotting the series or anything- I don't think I can replace the influence it had on me! I just don't foresee myself drawing fanart for it as much going forward, so i'm just posting this as a minidump. If i do end up drawing more down the road, i'll just add to this one. Who knows!
