Description I'm so happy with this, I think this is the best full body graphite drawing I've done, and even the rider isn't too bad I can see many faults, but overall, I'm really happy with it and I hope this is the beginning of better traditional artwork from me!
This is my Royal West Warmblood, training in dressage with head rider, Amy Border.

Story:
Now that Sandy was really showing her natural talent for eventing, the team were thinking of competing her at a higher level. Of course, that meant that her dressage needed to improve. Luckily, the mare showed natural ability, with three quality paces and a lovely way of carrying herself, which made training her a blast. In their recent rides together, Amy was working on collecting and extending Sandy's walk, trot and canter before she would start more advanced lateral movements, such as shoulder-ins and half passes. Sandy has a naturally hard working attitude, and is always keen to impress her rider, which meant that she picked up the art of collecting her trot very quickly. By the end of the ride, Amy had Sandy going in a beautiful collected trot, with Sandy picking up her front legs like a ballerina and powering through with her hindlegs. At this rate, the pair would be going up through the levels with no problem - in either dressage or eventing!

ref was used, but I cannot find it :/ it was from tumblr, I think...
