Description
--- This is more of a personal piece, because lately I have been feeling like I am in the middle of two worlds (hence the titlethat said, I really love this piece. I feel like I have found a style that suits me (mane and tail wise) and now just have to get everything else right! The colour change was quick and fun, so I will probably be experimenting more with that in the future.
Please critique so I can get better!

Absolutely stunning piece <3
I understand the feeling completely... I ride once a week, and I'm lucky enough to get to do the odd competition, but you're right, riding random school horses every time is nothing like owning a pony of your own. I had a gorgeous connemara mare called Bella a few years ago, but my parents couldn't afford to keep her anymore, and now I've got no hope of owning again until I can get myself a proper job (which could take a while, I'm only 16). But seriously, keep at it. We'll all get our dream horses someday
as for the manip, it's absolutely gorgeous. The mane and tail are so beautiful, and I really love what you've done with the background. I also adore the horse's coat, really good job, I'm so jealous!!

aww you are so sweet!
Now that I've joined Pony Club, I get to ride more often, get certificates and do the occasional show, but what I really want is to prove to everyone (and myself) that I would be good enough to show more etc! It's nice to know that other people understand too - I hope it works out for us all!

Aw lovely! There are no Pony Club branches near me, but I ride at a really great yard, and they always try to get us as much saddle-time as possible! ^.^ I know that feeling pretty well- I always feel like I need to prove myself.... especially in front of a particularly snooty pony owner I know...xD

haha snooty owners are the worst What's annoying me now is that I found an equestrian centre 10 minutes from my school by bus so I could easily go DIY and go before and after school each day. Plus I found the most gorgeous horse ever - but she is so expensive
This is her advert: [link] If only I could ask for her for my birthday

awww wow! such a stunning jump! Do you have any money saved? You could always offer to pay part of the cost, and then ask anyone at the DIY yard if they need extra help for some extra money? that would be such a perfect set-up :3
It's a horrible feeling though, finding a horse that you may never own.... my friend and I came up with the most insane plans at one point to get a pony, but the only one that seemed plausible fell through when we tried it, so no pony for us :/

I know right! Yeah I have some money, and will probably get some for my birthday. That's actually a pretty good idea, thanks Me and my friend wanted to share a horse for ages (still do) and it would be a good way to halve the cost. She doesn't ride as much anymore though

She'll ride much more often if you share!
Nice to think that there's yet another horse lover with a chance to own one!

I know I worked out how I could fit it all in if I went DIY with her. She lives much closer to the stables, so she could do mornings and we could both go in the afternoon (each day someone different would ride). Oh my gosh, I think about these things too much
I have everything planned in my head!

awesome plan!!
our brains could be twins xD I think through absolutely everything... it's always better in my head, but dang, it's fun to go over your amazing plots, especially when they've actually got a shot at working!!

haha I know! Now just to rope my friend in All of last year, we would just plan how to get a horse together when our lessons were boring
It's a great way to cure boredom - and hey, they might just work like you said
still, how to get the £3000
(I think a little help from my parents might be needed there)!

Beautiful piece
I feel like that too.I only go riding once a week , and my parents aren't poor, but we're not the richest family around. The horse itself would be no problem, but the stables around are extremely expensive (for lessons and boarding) and we would have to board the horse at one of them. That would cost a lot, plus the cost of hay, pellets, mucking out, and someone to exersize it when I can't be there. Most stables are about 15 minutes away by car, and I don't have any time on school days, so I would have to ride on weekends. This means that I need at least two riding lessons a week-riding lessons are $100. so that's an added expense of $200 per week. So I have to live with it.......
But it seems like you have a chance, ask!!

thank you!
Yeah, we are nearly in the same situation. My stables at the moment have grass livery which is quite cheap, but I would have no way to get there every day and care for a horse. It seems like a lot of us are in the same boat - we should just all buy a horse together

I know, right? We should all just get a horse and pass it around the world
But of course, that'd be stressful for the horse

I was scared of the same thing when I asked my mum if I could have a horse. She said if we could ever afford one then yes, then by luck one of her customers who she does hair extensions for said "My friend has a horse she doesn't want" and I got her If you just ask - something lucky might come to you, too!
