story!
It was the middle of the night when Amy woke with a start. She sat bolt upright and heard the definite sound of hooves on gravel and then a loud clash coming from the stables. Jumping out of bed, she pulled on a blue sweatshirt and her black boots and rushed downstairs and into the yard. The sharp November air went straight through her pink pyjama bottoms and startled her, so she began to run towards the feed room where the noise appeared to come from. Sure enough, there were large, muddy hoofprints leading from a paddock into the feed room. The door was wide open and Amy rushed in to find a guilty looking Flash with his nose deep inside a feed bucket! But it wasn't just ordinary feed, it was the high energy food reserved for the lazy ponies! If there was one horse that didn't need that food - it was Flash!

"What are you doing Flash!" Amy grumbled under her breath, as to not disturb anyone else. This was answered with a cheeky look and a self-satisfied whinny. Still grumbling, Amy grabbed the headcollar (the one they had used the day before to teach Flash to accept) and led him back to his field. He hadn't yet been introduced to the idea of staying in a stable, so Amy would just have to put him back in the field and hope for the best! She reminded herself to build bigger fences in the morning!

Despite her late night disturbance, Amy smiled as she looked back and saw her cheeky horse cantering around the paddock looking pleased with himself. Then a thought occurred to her. That paddock fence was, at the very least, 4ft (1m.20) high!
Amy laughed and said, "Well, if he can jump that high in the dark, there might be some hope left for us afterall!"
