not so bad this one, but the second one is definitely better...

oh, long ago i had several visions of moving trees... that was a time when i was very much underway all alone in forests - day and nite... you see a lot then, more than normally... i saw them fighting amongst each other... well, one of my visions was the lonely country road... the late, lone driver on his way home, suddenly confronted with a big tree root, that slowly is dragged upwards through the surface of the road, and his car hits it and he's killed in that accident and can't tell nobody what has happened - besides who would've believed him...

The hills are alive, with the sound of-

Oh holy crap...

Absolutely amazing and very creative work! I love how you used soft lines and grainy texture, giving it a surreal feel, rather than the clear-cut boringness the majority of us(Myself included)use. The choice of colors and shades is excellent as well. This picture proves that a piece can have great dynamic and impact without being a blinding, tasteless mishmash of color.

It's really very expressive. The foreground definitely gives it a good sense of scale, and the colors mesh perfectly. One thing it emulates for me is the green/black computer screens of an earlier era. The eyes, which are less green than the rest of the piece, really stand out and give the whole portrait a sense of "otherness" that still lets the image remain personal and effective.

very nice.. the tree up there looks manipulated inside?
even if it is, it only adds t the picture,
(how did you make that dots texture all over the pic?)

Thank you, yeah the tree part is a photo. I put it up there for ref near the start of painting and ended up leaving in for some reason. The texture is a grain in the filters menu in photoshop.
