I always look for this style engine and very rarely see them anymore.

this is such an epic shot, the silver bullet next to BN1.

Does the e's nose have a less steep angle or is the an optical illusion?

The Burlington's nose has far more of a rake, the BN unit looks awful close to 90*. I think that may have been part of the E's styling as part of the Zephyr consist. Personally, i like both sleek, aerodynamic look of the Zephyr and the more utilitarian, almost blunt F equally!

both beautiful machines, indicative of their era where your company's appearance was advertising in itself.

Now most roads don't even want to wash or properly maintain their equipment! Union Pacific spent a small fortune laying the groundwork for a series of wash racks and promised they were going to give each unit a thorough bath at every opportunity, but all work stopped after the foundations, plumbing, and all that were installed. And i've yet to see one clean unit in regular service!

Either way I look at this shot or that of George.. The more it like it both ways. You both really caught the human interest part of this well!

Thanks! I was shitting bricks hoping i got this photo, the Zephyr was really moving pretty fast at this point and my camera takes forever between when i push the button and when it snaps the photo, and i can't set the focus manually so i just have to hope i timed the autofocus exactly right

Your camera kinda sounds like it doesn't want to do anything unless you bribe it. Either way.. You should be proud you got a clear shot. My camera I swear hates lots of humidity and semi darkness. Even on the night settings the pictures are suspect.

Mine hates anything but clear, bright sunshine. And any vibration at all will totally ruin a shot. One of my top priorities upon getting back to work, after a newish vehicle, is a decent, high quality camera with interchangeable lenses and a sturdy design!

My camera seems to hate motion or taking shots in motion. If I don't have it on a certain setting it blurs everything out. Yours sounds like it is a made in China piece of crap.. Which mine kinda is too.
I used to have a Cannon digital camera which would take great pictures but when it died I had to go over to what my mom bought at Best Buy which was that camera which she hardly uses if ever. If I ever run into good paying money again I'm going to go after a Canon digital camera.. But we'll see, I may have to just bite the bullet and use what I have and be thankful I at least have something to use to share my photography with you guys.
