So this was my first live truck racing experience. And what an experience! The smoke from the lap prior has just about cleared each time they roll around...

[Very delayed reaction] Thanks Jerry, much appreciated! I wish there was more opportunity to see - and shoot - truck racing but it seems to be a dying breed here in Oz. And now Oran Park, the circuit depicted here, is now well on the way to being another housing estate...

It's very sad to hear that you're losing the track to a house! It seems to happen a lot here in the states too (not so much lately with our country's economy in the dumps) It's all about money...sad

Indeed. Last I saw of it was in one of the racing mags or websites here that showed there was basically nothing left. And that was a few months ago. They've probably starting building houses (I refuse to call them 'homes') by now...
At least on your side of the Pacific there's a new circuit taking shape - and we'll (well, the V8 Supercars will) be invading it in 2013. I'd be most keen for a trip to check it out!

supertrucks were here at barbagallo a few months ago, i know what you mean about the smoke, it was fine for the first 2 trucks, then you needed to let them all past so the smoke would clear a bit

It's okay, I wouldn't hold back either! Yeah, definitely go and check it out. Racing's not exactly BTCC-like in terms of biff 'n' barge style but for the sheer spectacle of these behemoths is hard to not find addictive...
