It's not actually a theory, but Monty had said when he was going to make RWBY, Ruby was originally going to have gray hair as opposed to her red and black hair we see now. The gray hair was implying that she was both the wolf as well as Red Riding Hood.

Yep heβs a good beowolf and a great friend to ruby who he cares about and very protective of he was there and Pyrrha was killed and he blamed himself for it and for that he hated cinder but since then it would seems that ruby and Ben have seem to become a couple for ruby shows a liking to Ben almost like a crush
