Bill, ya got a good one here....once again

Question. Is that her real hair? I mean, like the back bun...or is it part real and part plastic hat type thing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

billsabub In reply to mooboy [2005-11-16 11:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Don't think that's hers. If so, WOW!

But every bride's hair was essentially the same in every way - bulk, shape, etc. I know that it's tradition, but you'll rarely see a girl here with enough hair to pull of this style naturally.

I'm sure that it's all hair. Just not all hers.

Wow, an excellent capture of a very lovely woman! I love her hair ornaments - yellow was a wonderful colour to choose for an autumn marriage, and she looks positively ecstatic for a Japanese bride. Was the groom cute?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

billsabub In reply to jaithepirate [2005-11-15 21:02:28 +0000 UTC]

Certainly a great choice for color. But would you expect anything less?

The groom? No. My wife and I laughed all day, because it seemed to be the day of arranged marriages. Either that or hidden endowments. Every couple we saw, one or the other left us wondering.

jaithepirate In reply to billsabub [2005-11-16 03:48:45 +0000 UTC]

Well, some people make very unfortunate choices in their clothing. One of my teachers got married and used these awful vomit-green hair ornaments that made her look like she was sick or something. I mean, I couldn't TELL her that, but that's what I was thinking.

Well, let's hope that internally they are absolutely made for each other....
Speaking of which, did you hear about the princess marrying a commoner? All my Japanese friends have been going on and on about how romantic it is.

billsabub In reply to jaithepirate [2005-11-16 10:58:08 +0000 UTC]

What? The princess married a commoner? NO WAY!

Of course, it was huge news here. NHK covered, in detail, her last tea ceremony as a princess. Nevermind the commentary on the impacts to the royal blood line, etc., etc.

jaithepirate In reply to billsabub [2005-11-16 14:59:59 +0000 UTC]

hahaha, oh no, not the precious royal bloodline! Was she the only princess? I heard that from someone, but I wasn't sure. Either way, the royal family isn't dying out, and....don't they know how many people out there have royal blood from emperors and princes having affairs with nobodies hundreds of years ago?

Good old NHK.

billsabub In reply to jaithepirate [2005-11-16 20:05:39 +0000 UTC]

She was the last princess.

The prince made quite an uproar when he suggested that the royal family start using concubines again.

Nicely done Bill
the classic composition works so beautifully with here and the detail is amazing! I've said it before and I'll probably say it again... the crystal clarity of your images never fails to impress, difficult daylight conditions (well for me anyway ) yet every hair is visible here in glorious detail.

Thank you!

That's because the professional photographer set up his area in an area between trees, so that she had the sun filtering down between the branches. Perfect spot for shots like this.

so you got to be more lucky than her photographer in my opinion

Bill, you can't fool me, I know exactly why you took this photo. Forget the Gorgeous colors, and exquisite compostion, forget the great use of depth of field, forget the perfect expressionless face you catch.

Look at one thing! The Lines... Shes got a whole head of them and you just couldn't resist.

Good shot bill.
