Description
This is a statue of the Ayleids, also known as the Wild Elves or Heartland High Elves, they were the first race to establish an empire in Tamriel.This statue, and others like it are found in Ayleid ruins across Tamriel.
I took this screenshot in ESO, and adjusted lightning and color to make it more cinematic and vibrant.

I really wanna meet an Ayleid. Not a ghost or a fully armored lich trying to kill me, but an actual, living Ayleid. Chances are that one of them survived until the Second Era. I mean, think about it, the Falmer were betrayed by the Dwemer in the First Era, the Dwemer disappeared in the First Era, and yet you meet one Dwemer in Morrowind (Third Era) and two Snow Elves in Skyrim (Fourth Era).

Yeah, I suppose if they follow that same logic it'd be possible. But then they gotta explain where they've been all this time, right? The two remaining Snow Elves that didn't become the betrayed was holed up in the Forgotten vale.
The last Ayleid kingdom to be seen was in the First Era, and if I remember correctly year 482 of that era. The first era has 2920 years. Elves can live for about a thousand years without some magical manipulation to prolong their life.
It might be possible that someone prolonged their life and lived until sometime in the Second Era, or they might have continued to reproduce as normal. But then where are the? And why haven't we seen them?
Still, I agree, I would love to meet a living Ayleid as well. From what I understand they are quite similar to the Altmer in appearance.

I've met some dead ones and they look pretty much exactly like Altmer. At least, based on their ghost.

The balance between lighting and shading gives it such an epic look, I love it!!!
