Description
A commission forThis helped me realize 2 things:
1) Organizing the info in the reference sheet is a pain
2) I need to make some for my own characters
In short it was interesting to work on this, especially when it came to the markings

hi there, i come in from the critique request folder.
your dragon reference sheet is well laid out with many details. i like how you designed even the skull of the creature to make it believable. it is quite a handsome beast and strangely, seemed amiable despite it looking like a strong muscular fellow.
i would request for a slightly larger full-view though. the wordings are too small and quite hard to read. the colors of the background and the creature are both so muted they do not stand out among the crowds of thumbnails. quite a shame because that will mean fewer people will click it and see it.
somehow the way you do this sheet reminds me of richard sardinha. he's an artist who specializes in the design of dragons.

i especially love his colored dragons series, the sepia/weathered background and the fonts chosen for the description gives those pages a truly authentic fantasy/antiquity feel.
good job, no wonder your commissioner was pleased.e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you for the critique, I greatly appreciate it ^^
I'll fix the size right away. I could read them well on my screen, reason why it was like that
As for the background colors I'll keep that in mind the next time I make a reference sheet (it was my first)
And I'm rather flattered you think my works remind you of that artist. I don't have nearly the same experience... and patience
Thanks again

For a commission? I took it down since I currently have too much on my plate to take large works > >

Gorgeous. 8D Those markings are love. The color palette is fantastic, and the soft rendering is quite appealing for a character sheet.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a positive reaction. All I was trying to do was making a rather "unnatural" pattern look feasible
