Description

"And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking" (Mark 8:24).

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:22-24).

I intended this to be a metaphorical representation of how Believers spiritually appear, bearing the Fruit of the Spirit of God in their lives that nourishes those around them.  This piece represents the fruit of Hope.

ARTIST NOTE:  I got this idea to do a visual study of the "fruit" we produce in our lives when I read the blind man whom Jesus gave sight to in Mark 8:24 saying he saw people like trees walking around - I have always felt that Jesus gave the man a spiritual vision of what people are like, producing fruit that either nourishes or poisons those around us by our words and deeds.  That idea seems to bear out when Paul talked about Believers "bearing the fruit" of the Spirit in their lives and contrasting that with the "deeds of the flesh."
