The U.S.S. Equinox cruises maneuvers through the "gloaming" of a warm golden nebula as it hunts for resources on its long voyage back home from the mysteries of the Delta Quadrant. One of many beautiful moments of wonderment in their journey through the harsh realities of survival in a dangerous and truly unknown region of space, Captain Ransom hopes its a sign of brighter days ahead.
ARTIST NOTE: As a kid, I remember a number of these rare "gloaming" evenings when the setting sun lit everything up in brilliant golden light. I wanted to try to capture that in space. Notice the faint ionized trail that snakes through the image, left behind by the ship as it cruised through the nebula.
