dragonzardman is right on yours it wouldn't work but on a berreta m9 type it works as its a hammer drop and ratchet system and the fire select and safety just disengages that trigger pull bar from the retaining ratchet for the hammer via a push pin but yours looks like a striker fire style pistol (no hammer and gas piston+firing pin similare to how a Glock type pistol works) not hammer pull so so would be 99% useless in youre but the design and shape is awesome and looks really cool overall!

I'm just spinning here... What if the gun has an internal hammer? It's sci-fi, right?
Thanks for the "awesome", though.

it could work but it would would be impressively complicated to do and would have some potentially bad drawbacks as well! (have a short throw firing pin ratchet locked in the slide to function as a prop fire pin with a cocking reset in the lower frame that catches the firing pin to reset it on the forward stroke but that would have the potential for failure of a open breach fire) (best system i can think of would be a hybrid hammer gas system that has the same type of firing pin with a short throw but uses a gas piston to reset the pin while cycling but that would be very complicated and lead to difficulties in general maintenance as it has lots of parts and it would get powder residue build-ups)

so maybe it could work like that and the safety would be a complicated pin locking drop gate that slide into a grove when its in its rested position...

but as a idea its not that good as the pin drop spring would ware out very fast due to fatigue as it would spend most of its time in tension (add to the manual to dry fire discharge the gun before storing it between uses with safety off )

Cool pistol! I don't think the fire select/safety catch would work on the slider, which is why they are usually on the handles.

This looks like it would perform similar to the g18 in bf3.
