This'll probably be useful at some time cause I just got Paint SAI and I'm planning to draw one of my watcher's OC, but I really don't know the basics of Paint SAI.

Hello! I was wondering where you downloaded your copy of SAI. Is softonic a good site to get it from?

ZenroGaiaX In reply to Hapbog [2014-12-14 19:50:29 +0000 UTC]
softonic never actually loads you can click download it looks like its working but nothing is actually happening or its just extremely slow i don't exactly remember where i got it from but..

Thank you very much, but I found a good download else where. Softtonic did download, but it also filled my computer with viruses. I got rid of it and got a different version. Thanks anyways!

May I ask a question about the brush size? Like.. how you stroke it? Or is it just one click since it's such a large brush?
π: 0 β©: 1
BlackFreya In reply to HalcyonNoctem [2014-09-09 23:16:20 +0000 UTC]
It depends, really. Sometimes it's a click/two/three, sometimes stroke. Pen pressure is very helpfull here

When you use the waterbrush, are you just going over what you did with the airbrush?
π: 0 β©: 1
bl4z1ng In reply to BlackFreya [2014-08-08 00:02:24 +0000 UTC]
Do I keep selected the whole base color or just the "shading" I did with the airbrush?
π: 0 β©: 1
BlackFreya In reply to bl4z1ng [2014-08-08 00:04:14 +0000 UTC]
Whole base color, not the shade

bl4z1ng In reply to BlackFreya [2014-08-07 23:34:16 +0000 UTC]
Ok, because it doesn't look at all like what yours did in the tutorial...
π: 0 β©: 1
BlackFreya In reply to bl4z1ng [2014-08-08 00:02:29 +0000 UTC]
But that is what I do ^~ I use the biggest brush size possible (mostly). One most important thing is not locking the layer you're trying to "soften". Also I guess it only works with tablet- pen pressure is very important here.

bl4z1ng In reply to BlackFreya [2014-08-08 00:06:20 +0000 UTC]
Oh... my tablet apparently can't allow pen pressure... that'd explain it then... :/ Ok

bl4z1ng In reply to BlackFreya [2014-08-08 00:09:09 +0000 UTC]
It's fine... :/ I need to learn how to shade, and I love how you shade, but I need to find something that doesn't need pen pressure

Great tutorial! You should do one on the eyes, too! And mayb your linework...do you scan and line or just line straight to the computer?
π: 0 β©: 1
BlackFreya In reply to starfox365 [2014-07-25 19:34:40 +0000 UTC]
You think so? (=
I sketch straight to the comp, use PaintToolSAI and wacom bamboo tablet. Then just select opacity of the layer to 20-40% and do the lineart on the new layer above.
