So this is related to *Valgaror 's recent journal concerning what may have been a removal of an avatar either because it was flashing or because it contained a swastika.So just to be certain, I've included both.
Most people have no idea that the swastika was not originally a Nazi symbol and that there are archaeological records as far back as 4000BC, which appears on pottery left behind by the Samarra, an ancient culture in what is now Iraq.
The swastika appears in many cultures and religions as a symbol of peace, harmony and in some cases represents the four corners or eternity.
The swastika is actually not a symbol of hate either. It was misused and quite possibly misinterpreted by the Nazi movement the same way people misused the Spanish/Portuguese word for black, negro. It's quite likely Hitler meant to use the swastika as a symbol of spreading the white movement to all four corners of the world, though there are many other theories on this subject.
While the one on the left represents (is perceived as) hate/war, the one on the right represents love/peace.

Context always matters.
So what you see here is not what you see here .
Edit: Perhaps I should have clarified it better. I'm not saying that the NS symbol is a symbol of hate/war, I'm stating that that's how it's perceived by people in general.
So wtf is up with removing the avatar?
I guess we'll find out one way or another.

I remember for my art folder project I wanted to use 4 different Swastikas, and our teacher said we cannot use Swastikas due to them being "offensive"
Then I went online, got about 16 swastikas and proved my teacher wrong

In Hinduism, Buddhism & Jainism, the swastika is still seen as a sacred symbol. Only in the west is it seen as a hate symbol.
You know, the Jolly Rodger (skull & crossbones) used to be just as reviled centuries ago. If you displayed the symbol, it meant you were a pirate, & therefore you were a thief, a murderer, a rapist & a terrorist. But these days, it can be found on children's costumes & no one bats an eye.
What I'm saying is, you're wrong. The swastika won't be forever tainted. Will it carry its recent dark history with it? Yes. Will it be forever associated with naziism? Probably. Will it always be viewed as a hate symbol in the western world? I highly doubt it. Why? Because in the computer age, information travels fast. More & more people are learning about the swastika's long history & true meaning. And they're reevaluating their views on it.
I'm pretty sure that once the WWII & boomer generations have died out, the taboo around the swastika will begin to fade. And come the end of the century, the swastika may start to be viewed the way it was before the 20th century.
