Description

Hey guys it me again here is a other remake of the famous FC-21 rifle. I know most of you guys are getting tried of the remakes but finally im satisfied with the design of the FC rifle. so i hope you guys like it.

Introduction

The idea of the FC rifle came about when it was found out just how time consuming and expensive the M2 was to produce. Experiments were done on making a M2  Garand rifle receiver out of cast steel but was found not to be satisfactory. So a idea to make a cheap semi automatic battle rifle in .303 was talked about by the gunsmiths of the factory. the idea was accepted by the Caugax Council, after finding out the cost of making the milled steel m2 rifle. As a starting point for the rifle the gunsmiths converted several 7.62.54r semi automatic rifle like the SVT-40 and the Dragunov sniper rifle to use 303 British ammunition and Bren gun magazines. Due to the fact both rifles use of rimmed 7.62×54mmR round which was similar to .303 British and that they had plenty of said guns in stock from the red curtain shipment.  They found great success with the SVT 40 rifles but the receivers were found to be time consuming to make. Until a woman called Felicia Felix, one of Don Bento`s workers came in with her own VEPR Hunter in 7.62x54mm with Jose Cruz the man who made the new FN style gas systems for the modified SVT 40s.  She had found out about the problem from Jose Cruz a naturalized U.S citizen machinist, gunsmith and national guard reservist that talked to Don Bento on making copies of the FN FAL to armed the Irish in the early days after the flash.  He had talked with Felica over the problem of the SVT reviver. Wishing he had a VERP rifle like his brother in Texas to copy that stamped steel receiver ( The rifle being rare in Puerto Rico). Felica had her own, a gift from her father in New Mexico at home. So she made a deal with Jose she would bring the rifle and they would both redesign the receiver to fit the SVT parts. With a CAD model made in two days they presented there work to Don bento.  Impressed Don Bento appointed Felicia and Jose to make and perfect the new rifle. After two weeks the prototype rifle was complete and was tested by the national guard. The prototype passed the torture test with flying colors but it still had a few flaws that needed to be fix.

History

The rifle started production on April 6 1921 two months after the valley was chucked back to the past. A batch of 2,000 rifles were sent to the national guard and the 3rd west cork brigade for testing along with the modified SVT-40 rifles. Although the initial production of FC-21 received positive feedback from the troops. There was a few bugs to work out on the rifle. Due to the rushed production of the rifle the gun was roughly made and had sometimes sharp edges. This was quite common in the early days that if a soldier nicked himself on dissembling the rifle it meant that the soldier would have good luck for life. This was quickly found to be cause by improperly sharpened tools and inexperienced workers. This soon was fixed with the help of downtime Irish and later German gunsmiths and metal workers.

Despite being popular the rifle looked very clunky and uncouth by both the Irish and the Puerto Ricans troops. So the FC rifle MK 1 was nicknamed Betty la fea or Ugly Betty in English, after the main character in the world's acclaimed Colombian telenovela "Yo soy Betty, la fea".  The FC was first used in the field by the 3rd west cork brigade in limited numbers on loan from the city state of Caugax, who wanted to test the new rifle in the field. As expected, the design was highly effective in terms of reliability and firepower. By late June 1921 half of the time traveler`s army were armed with the FC rifle and about 70,000 FC rifles were said to be in possession of the IRA. By the end of the war approximately 19.8 million rifles had been produced.  The mass production of the FC lead to its distribution throughout the world. Although largely dismissed by other nations, the rifle became popular in allies of the Irish mainly Puerto Rico and India it was also sold to numerous paramilitary and revolutionary factions throughout the world, especially in Africa and South America.

1. FC rifle prototype: This is prototype rifle tested by the caugax council back in 1921. The rifle was built in two weeks using parts from various guns. The trigger mechanism and tilting bolt are from a SVT 40 rifle. The gas system and hand guard came from a old Dominican FN FAL while the barrel and gunstock came a Lee Enfield MK 4 rifle.  That receiver and cover were made custom were made in a local metal shop while the rear sights are from the SVT-40. The magazine was a modified Bren gun magazine made to hold 20 rounds The FC prototype greatly impressed the council and was adopted but they said it needed modifications to suit both the time travelers and the Irish. So Felicia and Jose with backing and money from the Council made the gun better. The prototype is still in possession of the Felix/Cruz family

2.  FC-21 MK 1: The FC 21 came about due to the request by the council on modifications the new rifle. To satisfy the council many features were copied from the FN-49 a battle rifle that were plenty of them from smuggling from Colombia and Venezuela and liked by the council's war veteran members. So the rifle was lengthened to 1116 mm (43.5 in) to accommodate the recoil from the .303 ammo. The Lee Enfield gunstock was changed to a stronger modified M1 Garand style gunstock made of Puerto Rican roble oak wood and later on native irish oak. While the top hand guard was made of AG-4S glass reinforced phenolic resin plastic. One very clever feature of the MC-21 was the use of the lee Enfield MK3 rear sights this was a way for soldier to get use to the rear sights on a real MK3 lee Enfield rifle and make it so army vets from the British army that sided to the IRA could trained the rebels could use more easily. The muzzle break is a modified copy of the SVT-40 muzzle break made to accept the Pattern 1907 bayonet. This version of the rifle is the most prolific being seen in action during the troubles in Puerto Rico chambered in .30-06  to use in the Chinese civil war in 8mm mauser.

3.  The MFC-22 (Modified ) version of the FC-21 was developed specifically to make the FC 21 more compact and tactical. The standard FC-21 service rifle was much long that the submachine guns used by the IRA in urban warfare and the MFC-22 improved several of its shortcomings in that arena. Most significantly, it added a shorter stock and a proper pistol grip to improve handling. The MSE also has the gas system shorted that the standard rifle. These elements were combined made the gun have harder recoil. But made the gun more compact, the use of this modified rifle lead to the adoption of the AR-18 in the 30s.
