When production of weapons was started in the factory. There was a question of witch light machine gun would the be use in as the main LMG for the Caugax army and its allies. As producing the M240 and M249 would be difficult without the proper tooling. Several machine guns were reviewed by the council and two were selected to be the main ligth machine guns of the Puerto Ricans and there allies. Simplified Copies of the famous Bren and degtyaryov machine guns were picked as they were the esiest to make and still be reliable. Both machine gun were found to be well liked by both the time traveler army and the IRA. One very noticeable thing about these light machine guns was the plum colored furniture on both weapons witch was offend gave a few raised eyebrow when it was first issued.

Name: Besal "Bestia" light machine gun

Caliber: .303 British

Info: Nick Named la Bestia (the beast) this simplified version of the Bren gun became every soldier`s dream. When the factory`s stock of weapons was inspected about 599,0000 Bren guns with spare parts were found and issued to the autodefensa militia and National guard. But there was a problem with producing the gun, the gun was made using machined parts witch took more material to make. So ways to make this gun cheaper were investigated and luckily information was found on a emergency machine gun called the Besal from the original time line. This design as implemented but with some few differences. First of all it used all ready made parts from Bren guns like the barrel and the pistol grip but later were more more simplified in later on. The Besal became a firm favorite in the IRA and the CDF. It was used in IRC barracks raids to great success but there was a problem. The Lewis gun could out shoot the Besal do to its 47 or 97 rounds pan drum magazine against the Besal`s 30-round detachable box magazine. But this was resolved with the MG 21, a belt feed machine gun.

Name: MG-21 light machine gun

Caliber: .303 British

The MG 21 was the result of the need of a cheap simple light machine gun chambered in .303. The MG 21 came about when Don Bento,s workers were was taking list of stock in the old weapons factory in the hills. They found some 950,000 Cuban RP-46 degtyaryov machine guns with parts from what they call the iron curtain shipment, a titanic shipment of surplus weapons and equipment from the former eastern block nations. Chambered in 7.62×54mmR a rimmed a cartage similar to .303 British. Somebody had the bright idea of modified the gun to fire .303 British with Lewis gun magazines but producing the pan magazines were expensive so it was modified to use a belt attachment to use a cloth belt from a .303 Vickers gun with a heavier barrel from a Lewis gun to allow prolonged sustained fire. About 500 rounds could be fired continuously before the barrel had to be swapped or allowed to cool down. Also had a user-adjustable gas system, with three holes of varying diameters provided, to cope with varying environmental conditions and residue buildup. Although the empty weight of the MG-21 exceeded that of DP by 2.5 kg, when considered together with a single ammo box of 250 rounds, the MG-21 weighed 10 kg less than the original DP. The MG-21 fires the .303 British round from a 250 round Vickers cloth belt.

This gun is the most common light machine gun in the guerrilla stater kit. Finding popularity in IRA flying columns as simple to use and reliable. It one of the guns that can out shoot the Lewis gun in battle yet be lighter that the Lewis due to it stamp steel construction.
